Input delay on Steam?

When I play DBD on an Xbox with a TV, I have no problems hitting skill checks, but when I play on Steam using a gaming laptop and Xbox Series X controller (via USB) I can never hit skill checks. I have tried completely disabling V-sync, finding a better internet connection, changing my graphics settings, and re-mapping my controls. Nothing has worked… if anyone can help please do! I don't wanna be stuck exclusively playing killer on my laptop.
