Adding an anti-cheat
Now normally I am not a fan of the gotcha games, or really any game that offer advantages to spending money, however a lot of my friends like dead by daylight, so I am tempted the only problem is that until I see a reduction in the amount of people cheating in the game I can not in good faith purchase anything. Sure it may seem silly to expect such a thing, but there is even blogs about how bad the current anti cheat system is that some people literally hack it just to see how far they can go until they get banned and how many people they can get banned with them. I would love to see something changed about this! I am sure if there were less hackers on the game you would see a lot more player retention. Like the toxicity is bad, but I see more flying and teleporting survivors then I do toxic ones, I see more huntresses with aim bots and killers who mori me in the first 30 seconds of the game than ones who tunnel and camp.

I've been playing since blight was released and I've seen precisely two blatant cheaters.

I've been playing the game since 2018. With a few breaks, which were always a few months.
I can say that back then there used to be significantly more obvious cheaters and today there are significantly more subtle cheaters. Many beginning and not so potent players don't know the difference due to their lack of gaming experience. This means that these players only see the obvious cheaters.
On the topic: Adding an anti-cheat
The game still has no server validation to date (for 7 years).
In summary: Do you know Flat Earthers? They care as much about a round earth as BHVR cares about useful cheat protection.
