Invite Accept Failed?

Issue made itself known yesterday when I tried inviting my partner. And they couldn't join, saying the text above basically, same thing happened if they invited me. This never happened when we played together before I did the account merging stuff for cross progression so I've no clue why doing so has borked this up. Only solution we found that work was switching our party status to public? Either way, it's annoying.

Uhhh, we're both on Xbox if that's anything.
