Is there a fix for being unable to invite friends on the same platform? (Xbox Series)

It's in the title. When inviting or being invited by any of my friends on the same platform, after a long wait of nothing, the game just pops up an error stating that the invite failed and is no longer available/valid/something of the sort.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's just part of the developers' seemingly intentional blind eye towards existing load issues on Xbox. The game already suffers from absurdly extended load times. I'vetried to bring it to attention via support tickets and I believe forum posts to no avail. It's upsetting as a long time fan. (Upwards of 3 minutes just to get from title screen to main menu. Same to go from said menu to survivor/killer menu)
