Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

What is defined as "considerably"

Plunderer's Instinct says it considerably increases the odds of high rarity items.

I don't really log stats or anything and this is purely observation from experience but I did several games with the perk, with purple coins and sometimes people using anniversary cake to add another chest and I noticed a great majority of the chests I opened were still brown items.

Not sure if just bad RNG or considerably isn't much in terms of %.

That would be RNG screwing you over. Usually we get greens with the lowest being yellow. We also don't know if there's actual numbers involved.

Good question, that is one of the only perks that still have the old cryptic descriptions so Idk xD

Actually this is interesting cause this is not an easy thing to define at all, cause it's not a simple modifier or percentage. I was trying to work out how it works when writing this suggestion:

I was basing my calculations off of this wiki article:

    https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Plunderer%27s_Instinct

Which gets its numbers specifically from this reddit article:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/bxk4hj/ive_analyzed_data_from_over_800_survivor_chests/

The problem is there is no nice easy value you can assign to this mechanism (or if there is it requires good stats maths knowledge to understand/derive meaning).

As a programmer myself, when thinking of an implementation, I would probably do this with just a lookup table rather than having to calculate anything.

I THINK, at tier 3, basically every single item has an equal chance of being pulled. The numbers in the reddit thread aren't large enough to account for statistical error, so I'd say at t3 you have roughly a 5.55% chance of each item being pulled....

I can't prove that, but thats my occams razor guess...

But yeah, that's why it is vague... it is not a nice neat straight forward value you are sliding up and down, there is likely quite a complex and hacky solution to this under the hood 😁

In my own suggestion I eventually got sick of trying to work it out, and just additively modified the chance values for different luck tiers for this things like Open Handed xD

I have gotten red and purple items with Plunderer's and sometimes more then once. More often then not I get green items though. It was 2 red keys and I think at one point I also got a purple med kit and a red map in the same match but that was awhile ago so things might have changed.

The answer is simple. There is no clear value you can put instead of 'slightly/moderately/considerably'.

Plunderers, Predator and Bloodhound all have this issue.
