it's time to reduce the time it takes to open a chest
I think it's time to finally buff chests
Bhvr is recently adding a bunch of chests perks, they added Specialist with Lara Croft, and there will be another one coming with Trevor Belmont
Why do I say that?
Because every perk that requires you to open a chest, it's wothless, it takes to much time to go into a chest, and mainly, to open them
And doens't matter if the perk has a great effect like Specialist, it just take a lot of time to open them
My suggestion is: reduce the opening chests time to 5 seconds, and chests will only give you brown items, with this you won't lose to much time opening a chest to use a specific chest perk, and to be fair to the other side, the chests only guarantee brown items.

I agree that chests could do with a buff. It seems like for quite a while they've been balanced around the potential permanent item gain being seen as really powerful, but with how much easier it is to get bloodpoints nowadays I feel like that should be less of a concern than making the chests themselves worthwhile in game. You could probably cap chest item rarity at yellow (maybe throw purple keys in there for flavor, too) without them being too overbearing at 5 seconds, since the huge opportunity cost of detouring to a chest to sit there and loudly open it without directly progressing the game for that random addon-less item still wouldn't make them all that powerful.
