Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

You're still likely to be able to adjust gamma through either your PC's control panel, or from the displays settings themselves. Even a lot of cheap monitors have settings for different gammas, typically they use 2.2, so if you find the game too dark, you could use something like 2.0 or 1.8 if you can find it. On Nvidia at least (not sure about AMD), it's possible to adjust it through the control panel, and neither of these methods are bannable.

And of course, outside of DBD I'd recommend setting these settings to their defaults, so regular content will look correct. Normally you don't need to mess with these, but DBD doesn't have an invidual gamma setting, and the game is intentionally too dark, so it's understandable to want to adjust gamma for the game in my opinion. *Yeah, I've only found out now that all this time I've been using 2.2 gamma, since my monitor doesn't support SRGB gamma with SDR. Now that I've found out I can actually use SRGB gamma by enabling HDR and viewing SDR content, this game was probably made with SRGB gamma in mind. My bad.
