The hillbilly tweaks coming in october

As everyone has seen the very successful hillbilly revival back in january it has become apparent he needs a little town down.

I am a dedicated billy player ever since the autumn of 2019 so before even the overheat rework (we dont talk ab that one) and ive come up with a few changes that aim to make him have a little more counterplay while tweaking some of his addons to make them even more entertaining and giving unique effects that being said if the tweaks planned are buffs just ignore my suggestions.

Base kit changes:

Dont touch his movement speed values at all please they are amazing and feel great and u still have counterplay if u arent within 10 meters while having no cover at all and even then crouch tech is still a thing

Current overdrive accumulation is 2 charges/s with 20 charges total so you need a measely 10 second of chainsaw use in order to proc it, so a hefty -25% overdrive generation seems fair making it need 13.33 seconds instead letting survivors have a little more breathing room if they happen to survive overdrive.

Overdrive cooldown reduction down from 10% to 5%

Movement speed while in cooldown from 1.83 m/s to 1.5 m/s

Miss cooldown from a chainsaw increased from 2.5 to 2.8 seconds

Cooldown addons can once again be used while in overdrive making them less convoluted and confusing for new players

Cracked primer bulb:

-Overdrive generation from +15% to permanent overdrive

-Overdrive no longer grants charge or cooldown reduction

-This new meme addon would seem like a fun addition having permanent speed with no other effects in exchange for not one shoting it would be fun having a meme build making billy into a blight cosplay

Thermal casing

Renamed to thompsons' moonshine

-After hitting a survivor with the chainsaw the addon activates making the killer undetectable for the next 25 seconds

-Basically the old leafy mash with a number buff

Greased throttle

new effect: increases the movement speed while revving the chainsaw by 3%

-Decreases the chainsaw miss cooldown by 10%

This addon is used by basically no one because no one stacks cooldown reduction anymore and everyone who wants cooldown reduction goes for the better thompsons' mix

Ragged engine

While in overdrive the terror radius is decreased by 8m

Discarded air filter

-revving the chainsaw reveals survivors' aura within a 8m range of you (this doesn't work while chainsaw sprinting)

High Speed Idler screw

Overdrive no longer grants speed cooldown reduction or charge time reduction instead granting 100% turn rate while in overdrive, added stack mechanic: hitting a survivor with a sprint longer than 5 seconds grants a stack decreasing the chainsaw noise range by 8m per stack up to 4 stacks (maximum decrease from 60m to 28m)

Apex muffler

additional effect: suppreses the overdrive proc sound

this change is made so survivor dont know when u are on the move as this addon is only used with undetectable perks so it has even more of a surprise factor

Filthy slippers

additional effect: once the undectable status effect is granted also gain 30% turn rate

this addon is the combo with apex muffler unfortunately it is made useless by perks and the spiked boots addon

so granting it additional turn rate might make it viable for once

Iridescent engravings

additional effect: Decreases overdrive generation by 10%

this makes engravings not make the off brand motor oil addon worthless as the engravings extra charge time makes overdrive generate even more than the 15% buff the off brand motor oil provides because of the extra charge time needed

    I hope they just change overdrive a little, or something minor without big effect on pick rate.

    I don't really play Billy, but I love to play against them.

    I personally think he should be more punished for spamming and not actually hitting his power especially when he uses saw misses and traps you in a corner or just body blocks.

    He needs to be nerfed. Especially his cooldowns. He can't just spam his power and miss and still not be punished for that.

    While most people can agree he needs to be toned down, I'm honestly not sure anything meaningful will happen purely due to how popular he's gotten since they got rid of that overheat mechanic and made his curve window easily accessible even to the average controller player.

    Any substancial nerf would send the community into a rage that would tear the forum apart.

    It will most likely be some minuscule number changes with maybe a few add-on changes which will make it possible to play exactly the same anyway. I just don't see how any meaningful nerf won't cause a massive uproar.

    Distortion and Weave are most likely getting nuked from orbit though.

    that or just the overdrive mechanic as a whole rewarding spamming chainsaw and even misses or HOLDING onto it, why doesn't it have an overheat for spamming it too much but if you keep it in the sweet spot it grants over drive? Something like that to punish

    I find funny people complaining about lack of punishment on probably easiest to miss power in DBD.

    Like I want Billy players be ambitious with their curves and try it. Punishing him will lead only to more M1 hits, which is boring.
