Confusion about the Oni

He has to have one of the worst early games out of all the killers. Survivors will play really safe making it very hard to get your power.

And once you get your power, it's not even that great. People say that it's game over for the survivor team once he gets his power. But be honest, how many downs do you get with Blood Fury? Usually two at best.

Finally, he just feels bad to play. I feel stupid when trying to maneuver with demon dash.

I'm just not sure why you would play him when Billy seems like the better option overall.

because unlike billy you can flick his demon dash hit to behind you or around stuff. You can also skate around obstacles unlike billy and it's very easy to snowball as him. It takes some getting used to with demon dash but once you get someone injured or multiple injured it's very hard to not keep getting your power.

Billy has a more consistent threat throughout the match but Oni is extremely more lethal with his power. Easier to get downs, lower cooldown between hits/misses, moves faster (minus overheat speed unless using addons) and otherwise better at countering most loops. If you're having a harder time with Oni it's just a matter of experience really. I've found quite a bit of success with Play with Your Food on him although it does require you to find the survivor unless paired with Nemesis. You could also try Brutal Strength and Bamboozle together to get a hit sooner. Once you do get a hit the match snowballs from there and you can end games sooner than Billy if the survivors aren't careful.

If you're on MnK you can 180 and hit people at pretty much any tile. If you're on controller, don't even bother playing him.

haha someone with same opinion on Oni. the time it takes to get his ability too long and the fact that you get punished -7 second duration per down punishes your ability to slug which is main redeeming aspect of his ability over other killers like billy, like blight, like chucky's S&D etc.

having more control in the chase is good but it is not game-over. Oni needs at least 3 demon fury's vs component teams to win. a lot of players have impression that 1 demon fury = game ending and that is true if you don't play vs it properly but vs good teams, it is unlikely they'll play bad enough for 1 demon fury to end the game on the spot.

Oni is the most lethal especially if you're on mouse and keyboard.

oni is perfect they shouldn't ever touch him.

He has to have one of the worst early games out of all the killers.

one of the worst? obviously. the worst? no that has to be hag.

it's not only the downs he gets during his power, he'll have injured survivors afterwards to collect blood from. although you need to be good with his power and get at least one down with all your power gauge especially if survivors are healing or it's early game all over again.

you'd be right about billy comparison if flicks weren't a thing but with them oni's capabilities and lethality in power is way better than billy.
