No map offerings for a week to test something?
Do people think it would be interesting to test removing/deactivating map offerings for a whole week for a test and see if it affects the community (and how it does if so)? It could be some test to run for a week like for example that one time that bloodlust was turned off for that period of time, or even a longer one like the one that was run last year to hide prestiges in the lobby (now this past month complete implemented after it being a success by the devs).
I don't know, but personally map offerings feel insanely cheesy and they condition too much the match before it has even loaded in and I usually run Sacrificial Wards in most of my matches to avoid any side to have a pre-set advtange prior to the game just for choosing which map to play on. Also, it conditions players because I have been noticing that matches where map offerings come into play people tend more to disconnect and rage quit during the game. Of course, when map offerings are shown in the offerings reveal screen disconnections are more likely to happen, and if they brough a map offerings and they see another different one and/or a Sacrificial Ward, chances for people to disconnect are higher again.
It feels like they do more harm than good nowadays.
Should map offerings be touched at all in some way? Rework them, deactivate/turn them off… Anything?

A map offering usually puts me in a foul mood. It'd be nice to be free of them for a while.
If they could change it to something like "don't go to that map", that'd be great. (And maybe if multiple offering, take one at random to say "not to that map")

The only legit use of Map Offerings is to try and get the Map Related achievements, beyond that its a waste of my inventory space.
I cant recall the last Map Offering I used.

Yes, I think it would make the matches less toxic and more enjoyable. Players who drop a one sided map/a map that is good for the killer, usually also use the strongest perks, items, and addons as well as playing in the most bm way. It also feels unfair when you have such an easy way to turn the match in your favour even though the match hasn't started.
Also, it conditions players because I have been noticing that matches where map offerings come into play people tend more to disconnect and rage quit during the game.
I noticed this too and this has different reasons:
- the one with the map offering dcs because this one doesn't play that easy like they thought. I also feel like that if you need a strong map to perform good, you have a huge skill issue.
- One survivor drops a stupid map for survivor (e.g. Mitwich, RPD, or Lerys) and one of the survivors give up/dc because it just feels not that nice to play on these maps but it even feels wrose when you got send to these maps.
- One of the survivors know how it will end when a killer drops a map offering that is good for this killer.

The developers should rework the map offerings and they should decrease the changes to go to this realm instead of increasing it to nearly 100%. This would make the game more fun and enjoyable for everyone.
I think the developers don't really care about these achievements - they are there to have a reason to grind for them but the game gives you enough to grind for it. They gave us this stupid Vecna and Twins achivement that is so difficult to get because it is just pure luck to face these neverused killers. They can also make these achievements easier to get (e.g. just finish the RPD gen one time and escape instead of 20 times) or they can remove them because we have so many achievements in this game (iirc, Switch players don't even have achievements and they play the game).

Get rid of them. That would shrink up out inventory space greatly. Would also possibly help with better items in the bloodweb.

I would not discontinue them completely (don't crucify me), but instead I'd like the Sacrificial Ward to be made more useful.
First, it should be yellow rarity. It can get completely wasted when there is no map offering in play. Plus, it would be more common since it wouldn't have to compete with all map offerings.
Second, it should completely revert the effect of map offerings when used. So now, instead of guaranteeing that realm to be selected, it will be removed from the pool altogether.

Nah, I'm trying to get the Racoon City RPD achievement: Outbreak Breakout
"Open the exit gates and escape from Raccoon City Police Department 20 times in public matches."
Imagine trying to do it WITHOUT map offerings? No, mate, that would literally take years with the amount of different maps that exist now and having to not die as well.
Also, if I can't use map offerings, I can't play Trapper. I need my Midwich offering, don't you dare touch my Midwich offering! 😫

Map achievements are the main reason to keep offerings. But that specific achievement is an outliar and a mistake, it should have been only a single match. Too bad they can't change it on consoles because of rules by Sony and Microsoft.
