To the trapper players
Why do most trappers always hit you when you step into their trap and pick you up then?
Wouldn't it be faster to pick the survivor up?

I think currently theres some bug that makes it impossible to pick up trapped survivors sometimes

We hit yoiu so if you do manage to free yourself before we get the prompt to p-ick you up you fall down. It's a safety thing because you can walk up to a Survivor and press the pick up button bu at that moment they free themselves and run off. So it's better to smack you and then pick you up just in case. Also I do it for points, not sure if it gives me any but I do it for that as well.

its bugged.
if you try to pick them up, they just get pressed on the ground and stay there instead of going on your shoulder.devs, fix your game!
(seriously, it cant be that there are at least 3 bugs going on AT THE SAME TIME on ONE killer. how are we supposed to play him like this? and why havent there been fixes? its bugged for months now ;-;)5 -
Right now there is a bug that prevents you from picking them up out of traps. Probably related to the grab bug.
There are other reasons though. If you don't want to pick them up right away it's best to just hit them so they are in dying state when they get out of the trap, gives you time to kick a gen/pallet or maybe get a chase on someone else, whatever the case may be. Also if they were in the trap for a bit, it's better to hit them just as insurance they don't get away. I've seen instances where a Trapper goes to pick someone up just as they get out of the trap, and the killer doesn't react in time and it starts a chase, which wastes time.
Also for extra points.

2 reasons
1 is a pickup bug that is currently in the game
- If you free yourself before we can get in pickup range which is point blank you can run off still.
Traps without a certain addon can only injure not down.
Only if the killer is running a honing stone which insta downs when freeing yourself can a trap actually ensure you go down.
So the swing is for security.

Well, and then it can be possible that you bug in that way, that everytime when the Trapper swings his weapon, you launch into the air. Happened to me once, the Killer had so much fun with throwing me up the air by simply swinging his weapon...

Because of the bug, as others said.
By the way folks: you DON'T get points for hitting a trapped survivor. Which makes the bug even more annoying.

The bug was, instead of picking up the survivor, they would stay in the trap even though they appeared on the floor. You could drag a survivor quite a ways until they freed themselves, at which point you had to hit them again anyway.
By hitting before they tried to pick up, it would ensure that the pick-up worked without the bug.
No0b3 ran into it a couple times, video queue'ed to the correct time, but if it isn't, it's at 3:06:
