Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Dracula is great, but Bat Form is too strong

After playing as and against Dracula a bunch over the past few weeks, he quickly became my favourite Killer to play as (sorry, Unknown).
However, I think he's too strong, and it comes down to Bat Form. In particular, how effective it is as a chase tool:

  • It lets him catch back up very quickly after he lands a hit or makes a mistake, since he gets the movement benefits of Bat Form immediately and can switch back every 2.5 seconds.
  • It's great for dropping right on top of Survivors, since not only does he begin chase right next to them, he can often get a basic attack in because there's very minimal fatigue.

I think Bat Form should be focused around patrolling, traversing long distances and repositioning, not for short bursts to catch up with Survivors. And I think Survivors should be given slightly more of a chance to get away from him after he transforms back from Bat Form right next to them.

He's not unbeatable, but harder to play against than he needs to be at the moment.

The problem is that pretty much any other Killer's catch-up tool has limitations. Spirit has to charge hers up, she still acknowledges windows and pallets, limited use, and has a long cooldown to her only power. Blight also has to play around pallets and windows, has a cooldown, can only bump 5 times, can't turn sharp corners and has a 2.5 second fatigue whether he hits or not. Singularity's power is completely negated by EMPs, etcetera.

Dracula just ignores anything the Survivor puts between them, has barely any cooldown or limitation and can use his other abilities right after.

And for your other point, map mobility is an incredible thing for a killer to have regardless of how it plays in chase so I don't think it ever be irrelevant. But also: it should not be completely useless for catching up, but not as effective as it is at the moment either, because it's pretty uninteractive.

but bat form has limitations… like being unable to see survivor, noise that makes it harder track and the killer cannot necessary m1 directly out of bat form as there is small delay where survivor can drop a pallet or vault a window assuming survivor is camping the window or the pallet.

in many ways if dracula is able to pin-point track you in bat form and directly land on top of you and your not near a loop/resource than it is misplay by the survivor. The survivor also has advantage of being able to directly see bat and where killer is. Dracula doesn't ignore anything. At best, dracula is winning 50/50's and playing some basic mindgames with bat form through sixth sense tracking.

Only time ive felt helpless against dracula constantly flipping through bat form is if you are stuck out in the open and he uses an addon to block the only window you couldve reached or something.
