Tunneling

I'm so convinced tunneling would almost completely be combated if the killers didn't receive unhooking notifications. If they're that worried about not knowing if someone got off hook, they can easily look on their screen to see survivors portraits.

that's the point of the UI though??

I think that's the point and it forces a killer to camp or look constantly back at hook if they want to tunnel. Tunneling still possible but it wont be handed out with a noise notification.

Sometimes as killer I don't hear the Unhook notification due to being too focused on chase or thinking it was a penti totem or something (despite them having different noises). I find myself looking at the UI to see no one is hooked and go "when did they get unhooked?" so maybe that would do something. Of course a killer can still tunnel but will have to put some effort instead of the game alerting them with a loud noise notification

the sound is extension to UI. the killer UI is already worse then survivor UI because it doesn't show hook states. no need to downgrade current UI to be worse than what already is.

I mean it doesn't change anything except making it more exhausting in it feels like 80 matches. I react anyways if something changes on the portrais xD

The less information you give a killer and the more inconvenient their game becomes the more they will rely on "those" strategies. If someone really wants to tunnel, they will tunnel. But if someone doesn't intend to tunnel, that's when this would actually come into play because they wouldn't have a reason to remember where the hook is and monitor the UI.

Meaning, you would make tunneling a bit less convenient but at the cost of making the game harder for every killer, who doesn't tunnel. Which only enforces that playstyle. Even if the killer doesn't tunnel, that unhook notification still tells them the position of at least one other survivor.

Let's go the opposite way: if a sweaty nurse wants to tunnel you, she will tunnel you,
but if I play on GF and want to go to 9 hooks and accidentally end up with survivors with the same skin, then I accidentally tunneled,
if the killers more often saw how many hooks someone has, the overall level of the tunnel would drop as the case of unintentional tunnels would disappear

Sorry for the bad English, but I think I got the point across, if the killer wants to tunnel, turning off the sound won’t do any harm, but if he doesn’t want to tunnel, he needs something to know how not to tunnel

We already have this in 2vs8, where it helped. They should try it at least

I literally was saying this for a long time even yesterday that unhook notifications should be gone, it won't fully counter tunneling but will at least somewhat help since it just means killers should pay attention more to huds.

Every high mobility killer or teleporting killer are some happy return to hook Andy. They start a chase with someone then immediately goes back hook even if who they was chasing could have got a easy hit from said person.
