Cheaters need to become focus
Yeah, this game has the problem with cheaters so long, but it didn't use to be this much rampant like it's nowadays.
Youtube, TikTok, everywhere, there are people blatantly cheating and advertising cheats for more people to buy and not a single thing has been done in order for us to at least see devs are aware of cheaters problem and are trying something.
People who stream their cheating matches, people who advertise and sell those cheats are literally mocking devs for not doing anything regarding this problem.
I reported some cheaters couple of times with clips of them cheating and...nothing, nothing has been done.
This is getting truly frustrating and embarrassing

It's not that the devs don't care about addressing cheaters, it's just that cheaters don't just stop trying to cheat because old cheats got shut down. They simply look for new ones.

The other issue is that cheaters even if they do get banned, will create new accounts and continue cheating anyways. Really helped by when Epic was giving the game away for free a few years ago.

The issue is with subtle cheaters.
Those guys have a high chance of not getting banned while still do continue to plague the game.
Blatant cheaters can always be reported and will eventually get banned.

Hens' clip on YT summarizes some of points i noted quite a while ago:
the two big problems are:
1. config being so easily accessible that you don't need to try very hard to modify values of perks for example
2. since servers are built up in that way that killer acts as a "host" of the game, cheaters can literally control killer's gameplay in order to even hold the killer hostage, this was vastly used by some of them to literally torture dbd content creators by streamsniping them and doing these.
3. injectors are so easy to use too and you can't even get banned for using them unless somebody manages to streamsnipe you while playing against you, use report function and then send a mail with VOD, same goes for jconfig related cheating.
Dbd is a serious game at this point, but at the same time one with the worst problems in terms of dealing with cheaters since gamefiles are easily accessible and there are no reliable ways of dealing with those since you usually can't do anything unless you have ID of player and VODs.

obvious cheaters use cheats that severely alter killer's gameplay and quite a lot of burner Epic accounts, those are the ones even more dangerous for the game and a reason why something needs to be done about the whole killer-host of the match situation in order for cheaters not to be able to have significant control over killer's gameplay.

Isn't there a way to simply deactivate any of the free Epic accounts that haven't been used yet? If so, seems that would be a good way to at least get rid all of the Epic "burner accounts" that cheaters have been using.

Epic should have the ability to revoke game access. Personally I find it to be a bigger issue if platforms start revoking unplayed games to stop cheaters even if the games were initially gained for free.

If the account has never played the game once in the however many years it's been since the free game was offered, that's a pretty good sign that it's a burner account for cheaters and not a legit account. The number of legit accounts that got the game but haven't played it yet since that time way long ago is probably close to zero, so you would be impacting almost no legitimate accounts.

I would rather not give these storefronts permission to remove game access from accounts just because the game they have access to hasn't been played for years.

How many legitimate accounts do you think downloaded the game when it was free and haven't played a single minute since then? I'm only talking about accounts that haven't played it a single minute since they downloaded it during the free period, not people who have played it but then took a break for a very long time. I think the number of real people you would be negatively impacting would be close to zero.

Whether or not you believe this would be valid for DBD, I would rather this not be something storefronts just do to fight cheaters. It's about not setting a precedent that it's okay for companies to remove unplayed games from people's accounts.

I think that's fair for paid games, but it's not like these people paid for the game and aren't able to play it anymore. I really don't see a problem at all doing this for games that were offered for free, especially when it's basically a 99.99% chance that it's being used as a burner account for cheaters.
