Unable to Pick Up Item from Upstairs Chest on Hawkins Lab

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: It is currently impossible to pick up the item from the chest upstairs in the Hawkins Lab. I have tried to re-orient myself, move inches, and it simply does not pick up the item. The character will do a brief, half-second pick-up animation but it will stop automatically.
PLATFORM: PC-Steam
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED:
- Find the chest upstairs in Hawkins by the lockers (not sure if guaranteed spawn)
- Open the chest
- Try to pick up the item from the chest; you can't.
