Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Trickster complete rework idea

There was game called Ultrakill where you can throw a coin, and shooting this coin will make bullet ricochet to target (havent played this game, only watched)

What about making something like this for trickster? He could throw knife into cards for example for specific outcome
Note: I got an idea, tried to give it some thought, got tired of it so its probably half baked.
i thought about gambling mechanic where you get specific buff depending on which symbol of card you get as well

——————————————————Concept———————————————
Ability 1: Throw Card
Ability 2: Throw Knife

1. Throwing Card at random location: (Tracking tool)

You can throw card further than knife, and it will float in air (or could be slow projectile so throwing knife at card would be satisfying)

Longer distance = larger radius of effect.
Throwing knife at this card:
-Will make closest survivour (or not only 1) scream and reveal their location for short amout of time
-If card detects someone you get haste status effect.

2. Throwing Card at survivour: (Chase)
Will chase behind survivour, creating "illusion" of wall. Throwing knife at this card will make knife ricochet at survivour (if there is line of sight, card could glow if such is present).
Card dissapears after getting hit

Effect of throwing Knife at this Card: (effect applies only after ricochet)
-Reveal aura and apply blindess for 30s or until getting hit
-Give Trickster some kind of buff to indicate that he is fixated on getting this survivour

3. Throwing Knifes at survivour:
No idea what to do here, this concept revolves entirely on throwing them at cards, maybe you would be unable to throw them until card is placed somewhere

it is super interesting. i think their idea of trickster was a character that does trick shots so they implement add-on to reflect that, like explosive knifes and ricochet knives. unfortunately the concept wasn't able to be expanded upon or reliable put into practice into dbd gameplay loop.

i think it is because a pure trick shot character cannot get earned hits through direct gameplay. you have to like…. create artificial environments and put aid-helper mechanics to make mechanic work.

in your example, your using a throwing a trap(a card) to change environment and than your using a feature called auto-aim/homing to aid the killer to make ricochet work.

It is cool idea that likely will not be explored from lack of resources.
