Does Mathieu Cote checking the forum?

Just out of curiosity…

Does our game director checking this forum? And what section of the forum he does check (if yes)? (Hopes are vague tbh…)

Maaaybe… Just maaybe… - He is one of us? Using a different nickname just to appear as a player like us? (That would be terrifying)

What I know for 100%… Almo does (Game designer). Community managers (Peanits, Mandy) does.

I know for sure there are more members of the game management here on the forum, but they're not as active on this forum as our community managers (as it should be tho).

The developers who check the forums, do so in their free time.

Part of the Community Managers' job is collecting feedback and reporting it to the various teams, so that's why they participate more actively to the platforms (not just the forums as this is not the only place where feedback gets collected).

So the answer is maybe? I'm sure he, just like others, is curious to see the community's reactions to specific things.

    I would think that:

    1. He is pretty busy\have no free time to check.
    2. He checks different platforms (Twitter).
    3. He is checking the forum, but does it anonymously (without an account) and very rare.

Either way, I agree - the reactions of the community on different new things\changes are something any game director would've been curious to see\read about.

Sorry, but I can't press "Yes" to the: - "Maybe" answer, since I'm not sure as well. :)

    Maybe I am Cote??

But seriously, even if they are - they are just humans like us and if one of them frequented this forum eg in the Feedback/suggestions section its still a dev team working on the game and not one single individual making decisions - and plenty of them also are just players like us as well!

If he read the forum, maybe he can explain how players with 130 hours get matched with 5000+ hour players in the same survivor lobby.

theoretically, matchmaking is based solely on a hidden Rating (MMR) which is only influenced by escapes via gate and deaths (or for killers: Killed/escaped survs; hatch escape is neutral) so matchmaking wouldnt be based in playtime directly - you can have higher skill Level with less Hours played easily. As for completely new accounts: Their MMR needs to be calculated First and may drastically change between the First Matches

All that said: the current implemention of the MMR isnt hard set, you still get matches where the skill Levels vary to make sure Lobby times armer top long and especially lobbies where Players leave need to be refilled and there the MMR will be matched more loosely.

Also, and thats just me personal opinion, this calculation of skill Level isnt really appropriate, as perks, RNG, and plenty of other factors play a huge role in how a match will play out.

yes that is how the community thinks how the technical side works (i'm the 5000 hour guy from my example).

my point is mr cote should explain it and then maybe it get changed when he finds out how wrong the community thinks he is like it happened before.

thats is how the devs explained how it works. Its not just something the community came up with.

the dev team is aware how the community thinks of this. Its talked about everywhere.
Mathieu Cote would not be the one to make this decision anyways, its already stated in this thread what kinda tasks he has. Its a very unreasonable idea to expect him to conpletely decide to overhaul this system based on one comment..

    Like it happened before

you mean the flashlight changes and stuff? The Game was in a completely different State back then as was the dev team. Its unlikely something Like that happens now… if it even actually was like the community now acts.

(and i am saying all this while not being content with the current matchmaking System myself..)
