I wish that Venom The Last Dance wasn't so depressing

I watched the newest Venom movie and I have to admit that, for me, it really lacked the magic of the first two films. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but both the title and the trailers make the sadness of the film pretty obvious. But I think they kind of went a bit overboard with it. It was a film with very little plot, and instead focused on this sad little build up to "the final scene."

The first two films had a bit of darkness. But they also had moments of humor. What humor there is in Last Dance feels forced at best. Plus, trying to build up this feeling of terror around Knull, as if he's going to be the next Thanos level threat in this cinematic universe, rings kind of hollow. Especially given how the end scene plays out. No spoilers, you'll know what I mean if you see it. Great big build up to nada.
