Banned Spirit Skin in 2v8 - Dev Transparency Needed
Why is the War Hammer Titan skin for Spirit disabled in the 2v8 game mode? Is this a particle effect issue with the skin? I assume it isn't a license related issue because I can run Yui's AoT skin in 2v8 with no issues. I'm only asking because I would very much like to use the skin I paid $15+ dollars for or have an explanation as to why I cannot use it.
This is another one of those things where it should be put into a patch note or a list of features disabled for the mode. It's pretty disappointing that I cannot use one of my favorite spirit skins in this mode. And for all the people that say "well just play 1v4 and use it there," good luck finding a match within a reasonable amount of time when 95% of the player base is playing 2v8 right now.

Isn't spirits audio still bugged? That skin was the only reason I would have played her because that plus comms seems like she's a terrible 2v8 killer

That's very strange that the Yui skin is allowed but the Spirit one is. Because it's absolutely a licensing issue; BHVR no longer has a deal with AoT and we know there's a problem with adding licensed characters to new game modes, where additional permission is needed. I wonder if the survivor skins are oversights, or if it's because they are technically the survivors wearing cosplays of AoT characters (and not legendaries), while the killer skins are meant to be the titans themselves?

I believe it's due to a difference in how previous license agreements have treated killers and survivors. From the very first license, every contract Behaviour has made with another IP would have likely outlined that licensed survivors like Quentin and Leon would interact with other licensed content, so Behaviour would have experienced no legal issues by including licensed survivors in 2v8. However, the implementation of 2v8 is relatively new, so previous licensing contracts would NOT have had stipulations saying that licensed killers would interact with other licensed killers.
Going forward, I'd guess that Behaviour will change their contracts so license holders have to consent to a licensed killer playing alongside another licensed killer before that IP comes to DbD, but it's not a guarantee, just a theory—and as for licenses that are already in DbD, that depends on if A) Behaviour is willing to take the time and potentially the money to go back to each holder of the licenses they already have to renegotiate the contract and allow that killer to appear in 2v8, and B) if each license holder will say yes or no to it at all.

Also worth add William Birkin skin, you can't also play his skin on the mode.

To be fair, there is a difference between the Killer Skins and the Survivor Skins for AoT.
The Survivor Skins are basically the original Characters cosplaying Characters from AoT. So even if Yui is wearing the Mikasa-Skin, she is still Yui.
But the Spirit is the War Hammer Titan.
(At least it would make sense for me that there is a difference between those two)

In my opinion I don't think those who allowed personal skins, wish to see their killer skins go against survivors and loose? Maybe they just don't wish to see what was created and be abused and used in a manner not fitting for the skin, maybe they don't like idea od demolished and lost to survs? Just what I am thinking.

I am certain it is purely a license issue, the same license issue that prevents licensed killers from being playable in 2v8 as well.

Same reason why you can play as Sheva but not as Birkin. Killers and survivors are treated differently in licensing agreements.
