2v8 is a lesson for devs that strong perks are fun

The devs are so worried about "balance" that they've nerfed so many perks into being useless, especially for survivors. This isn't how you make a game fun. I remember an interview with a dev in another game that a core design philosophy for them is making abilities feel powerful, because it's FUN for players.

Now look what we get in 2v8. Ultimate abilities, AOE mid-chase heal, rebuilding pallets, AOE sprint burst, +100% movement when crouching etc. Just an example look at self-care in 1v4, it's tedious to use and nobody thinks it's fun self-healing at 35% speed. Yet in 2v8 escapist gets a 70% self-heal which finally feels viable.

My point is that perks should feel strong, yet in 1v4 it seems the devs are so worried about anything being strong for survivors so they nerf anything useful, which isn't fun for anyone.

I wish I could just choose a perk.
    Class system is BAD

For example, with ESCAPIST, you can choose from ChasePerks such as SprintBurst/DH/Balance.
    For SCOUT, Bond/Empathy etc.

It would be better if you could choose a perk in the same way for killer.
There is no need to strengthen the base, and the problem can be solved by increasing the number of add-ons that can be installed to about 4.

If there's a perk that isn't selected for this event, it's also a perk that needs buffing in regular matches.

I agree, the game is more fun when you have many cool GOOD abilities. Lately we haven’t got any really good perks most of them are far too niche and many have unnecessary drawbacks.
