I called it: adding more killers to 2v8 would worsen killer queues
Everyone was like add more killers to 2v8 so survivor is more interesting. This would actually worsen queues.
People said that they got bored from facing the same killers, but during the first week of 2v8 when it was still fresh and people weren't bored yet, killer queues were the worst. This means that even in the best case scenario where 2v8 is completely fresh, killer queues are still atrocious. I think adding more killers would actually worsen the queues for killer since it makes killer much more interesting to play causing more people to play killer. Also, the more survivors they attract to 2v8, the less survivors there are in 1v4 causing 1v4 killer queues to be bad too.
Not to mention, people mainly play killer because duoing as killer is a completely new experience whereas playing with multiple survivors isn't.

I don't think that the addition of more killers had this adverse effect on killer queues, but there is ONE thing that is, and you quite literally spelled it out yourself:
playing in co-op with another killer is STILL a novel experience and its drawing quite a lot of people to try it out. So even if it stayed at the original ones or if they added 12 new killers to the roster, I think the situation would have stayed the same.

I don't think it was so survivor would be more interesting lol people have their main favourite killers and they wanted the opportunity to play them in 2v8 as opposed to the previous small selection

People argued that the lack of killers was why survivor was boring and that survivor was unpopular because they got bored of playing the same 4 killers.

Yes, that's also why adding more killers worsens killer queue times. More people playing killer = worse queue times.

None of my Mains are in 2v8. I am not interested in most of the Killers here. It's still a painfully small selection for me… :(

While the addition of more killer options is going to draw more people to play killer, it also has an improvement on queues in the sense that there are more viable killer matches.
You can't have two of the same killer, so when you only have 5 options, you're throttling potential killer match-ups in much the same way as turning off crossplay.
With 8 killer options you're exponentially increasing the number of viable matches.

Queue times seem the same as last time. Way too long for me. The annoyance of having such long queues as killer outweighs the fun factor.

They've got low attention span and don't need to be catered to. It's great that new killers were added, but I was content in the original iteration playing as or against those 5 killers, even if Huntress was in half of those matches. Survivor is as boring as people let it be. A lot of the time, they complain about getting tunneled or something. What's more engaging as survivor than being chased? Especially in 2v8 with mega amounts of pallets, creating such strong setups?

Literally noone else said something like that. And its not even true.
