    But that is the point of patrolling, you are chasing survivors and you should only be chasing survivors where gens are so you can interrupt other survivors on gens.

    You find your chases from patrolling gens, you know where survivors are going to be or where they are returning to by keeping track of gen progress. Survivors tend to return to a gen with progress and altering your patrol based on where survivors are going is the smart way to play.
