Just a rant, post Chapter update

I uninstalled the game. This is the second time ever I've done this. The first time was a conscious decision to get away from the game because I just didn't want to play it anymore, I noticed a lot of other people, content creators too all leaving as well around the same time it was just a short time after Nemesis released. It wasn't because of the chapter I just wanted to leave DbD.

I've been playing since the release back in 2016 & that nemesis break we'll call it lasted almost 2years. Oddly enough I came back to a ResEvil chapter after leaving after a ResEvil chapter.

This time though, I left because this chapter has brought in the worst games I've ever played. Actually pushing me to the point of genuine frustration. Now it's the chapter release so sure we're seeing the new killer a lot. But yesterday was almost EVERY GAME. I'd hope this would die down but yeah. It was A LOT.

Now I know a bunch of people will moan about what I say here but me leaving the game again this time is down to a number of things which I feel are worth pointing out here, so here goes; for one - the killers these days have been unfun to go against (scummy I feel would also be a way to put it) with tunneling at an all time high whether it's me or my teammates it just sucks I don't know what else to say, it just really sucks, secondly I hoped the invocation perk (amongst other changes) would get a looking into given how it was extremely weak especially for a new perk being added to the game, regardless of what side it was for. This update seemed to give us a great survivor perk but then top it all off with rather unhelpful/practically useless perks alongside it, all without mentioning the biggest problem which I'm grateful to see others talking about too, leading the my third problem the totems. Hex totems have no become a near every game problem & is perhaps the most painful "meta" I could ever conceive us dealing with. I hate playstyles that don't allow you to counter the problem you're facing & instead you just have to deal with it because tuff. Take devour for example that perk once at 3 stacks makes you all one hit, if you cleanse it no matter how much value was gained it's at least gone. But now a problem I already hated has gotten worse, be it the dog, the knight, doc shock (especially on small maps which seem to be in abundance these days), hag, or just the 'thrill of the hunt' issue, you cannot get rid of the very thing causing a problem for the team which is meant to be able to be removed! There's no guarantee you won't die to devour but there also shouldn't be a guarantee you will spend 90% of your time looking for it & trying to cleanse it only to get pushed off by a scream or rushed away from the task (by not even the killer but their buddy). It's excruciating.

This game has been in a worrying state for me not because it's slowly dying but because of why. The community is less fun & feels too competitive, a fun game seems to exist only once in a blue moon now. You don't need to survive/escape every game, but you also don't need a 4k every game. Some players are VERY good, others not so much. This imbalance makes for horrible experiences, all without pointing out the giving up on hook problem or just slugging for that final Mori. Aspects to this game are not just a tad annoying they're down right unfun. Which is seriously such a shame. I think some things about survivor needed a nerf, I think things about killer need a nerf, I'm at a point though I'd hope many are at where we have to realise that survivors have been absolutely screwed these last few updates. With killers getting pretty balanced nerfs that don't entirely kill a perk or power unlike survivors who get a perk absolutely planted into the ground. Both sides need each other for this game to carry on & more & more survivors seem to just not be enjoying the experience new & old.

Leaving this game genuinely is healthy for you so often now, while that shouldn't be the case, the same could be said for any game really. Uninstalling the game though, I can't believe it got to this AGAIN. Problems that need addressing don't seem to be addressed & mechanics like our current totem problem are just given the green light now, like a lot of killer sided issues we could list from recent. I will stop ranting now & hope others can understand where I'm coming from & not just be a usual ass in the comments. I can respect a difference in opinion but of course don't mind hearing if others can see it to, even if from a different thinking.
