Tapping a to survive second hook on controller

I have nerve damage that doesn't allow my hand to tap as fast as required for this. Please consider people like me?

Something like this has already been proposed to the Devs. Sadly we haven't heard anything about it since.

Yes it should be an opt out thing anyway (hold button to let yourself die) just for the fact that any sort of lag spike will make you die.
I also really want them to change wiggle to button presses or something. Control sticks already break too easy, we don't need a Mario Party 1 style wiggle to make it worse. Whoever thought this up is obviously not a console player.
