Does anyone know how long it takes for your MMR to lower?

Hello, solo survivor main here with nearly 2000 hrs-ish ! So, before we start, please be aware this is NOT a "killers are so op nerf them all" post. I think killers need to be stronger than survivors, and this is not a post crying about how unfair or how unbalanced they or the game is or whatever. It's a genuine question, because I feel like I've hit a wall, or fallen into a very deep, deep pit and my fingers are bleeding but I'm still not out. I don't blame the killers, they are better than I am and they deserve their wins, but It feels like I didn't have a chance most of the time.

I've been tracking my games just from the past 3 days or so, and I have won 11, and I have lost 35. So thats like a 25% winrate.

The killers I am playing against are clearly better than I am, their skills far surpass my own and its felt that way consistently for awhile. It's becoming very difficult to feel like I am improving at all when the losses far exceed the wins, when simple challenges take over 10 matches or so to complete etc. I don't know if I hit a soft cap or something but If so I wonder how I got there at all because my survival rates have never been very good. But simply put this feels like something is off. I know prestiege doesn't necessarily mean alot, but it does feel very disheartening when you're in a lobby with 2 p100 survivors, 1 p100 killer when you yourself don't even have a single p100, and you died with only 8,000 points. I feel like I truly don't belong where I'm at.

All that being said, does anyone know at what point the MMR will adjust or how many losses it takes to pit you easier opponents/teammates?

It is Wednesday, I am not wearing pink, but somehow I am sat at this table. 🙇‍♀️

There's an MMR floor (I can't remember the exact value, but let's say it's 1200 MMR). Once you reach it, you won't drop below it, no matter how many games you lose. The MMR bracket between 1200 and 1500 is the worst because it mixes players who truly belong there with those who shouldn't be, simply because they won a few games in a row and are now stuck in that MMR with no way of dropping back down

Currently MMR is out of whack coupled by the lack of players. Survivors are low in supply and even when I play killer I'm getting squads or players that are way better than me. When I'm survivor it really is hit or miss. Yesterday I spent most matches bleeding out at 5 gens for no reason. But hey MMR is a mystery and maybe doesn't exist or the player pool is too low to implement it correctly.

Welcome to DBD where rules are made up and the points don't matter.

The matchmaking system doesn't work. That's why you're getting matched against people far outside of your skill level.

Even if it was worth it to tank your mmr (it's not btw) once you win a few games after it will shoot your mmr back up again.

You'd be wasting so much time for nothing. Just adapt and get better or just play for hooks and don't sacrifice anyone (if you're playing Killer).

So for me as Survivor I figured that I was able to survive without being good at chase. It worked for a bit but after a while I couldn’t do well in chase.

So instead I ignored escaping completely and just focused on chase. I would still help with gens but I would always try and rescue everyone and then give the Killer the kill by having one last chase as the egc timer ran out. Everyone wins in that scenario provided that experience is what I am gaining of value instead of escaping.

And it actually worked. I started with Killer shack and then started some of the common loops that others have mentioned to me on here. The Killer difficulty curve became significantly more gentle as long as I adhered to these rules.

Generally, at least for Killer, it takes about 20 rounds I fiind. Of straight actual 1ks or 0ks, either on purpose or by mistake.
