Example: Feng wasn't being chased by some killer, she wasn't really doing anything that should make the entity single her out to be chosen, she just kinda ended up there for seemingly no reason if I'm understanding her lore correctly.
What other characters seemingly don't have an actual reason to be there?

Probably Alucard because he could solo the entity
As for people without reason, I have no idea why the Entity wanted Jonah so badly that he had to be marked from birth.
