Tips for using Boon perks better!
In this post I will give you tips on how to use Boon perks better.
In general, Boon Totem is considered a medium risk medium reward, in some cases it may be high reward, It's all about how you use it.
In the description of any Boon perks it is stated that the range of the Boon totem is 24 meters, however this is only the distance from the Boon totem to the end of the area of effect.
Because when the Boon totem is activated, it forms a semi-invisible sphere. The sphere can be seen by observing those shiny objects floating in the range of the Boon totem, and they are only visible to survivors.
So the distance from the beginning of the ball to the end of the ball is 48 meters! So exploiting this range is very important and comes in the first tips.

Tip 1: Tottems Location.
The location of the totem is very important because you and your team want to benefit from the Boon totem
and keep in mind that Bless Totem takes 14 seconds without any perks affecting Bless Speed, the killer takes 1 second to sniff boon totem, so you should use it smartly so you don't have to waste too much time and the killer is the winner.
Totems in places your team visits frequently are the best for blessing the totem (If the killer goes there too then it's a bad place).
Totems that are difficult for the killer to reach are also very important. You don't want the killer to sniff Boon totems.
Examples:
-Totems in high places (such as the second floor of the main building - or vehicles with totems inside), Or even the totems are in low places, meaning that the killer needs to spend time getting down to them (indoor maps: like the game).
-A totem close to a completed generator is also a good place because the killer will have no real reason to go to a completed generator and even if the killer goes for sniff boon totem the killer will have lost some time, just make sure that this totem is not in a dead zone or far from the rest of the map.
Avoid these places:
- Dead Zone
- Map corner
- very exposed places
- Very easy places for the killer to sniff boon totem with a very little wasting time

Tip 2 : Items and perks to help with Boon perks.
These tools are very useful to help with using boon perks!
- Green Map with Stamp+Red Twine or Detective's Hunch.
- Iri Map and Stamp
- Small Game if you have nothing else.
- Overzealous is great to recover some of the spent time back.
Since the game has a large number of maps + RNG, these tools are very good, especially in saving time.

Tip 3 : Uses
When you see a Hex totem, it may be best to bless it for the following reasons:
- Blessing Totem is quieter than cleansing Totem because when cleansing Totem your character will make a humming sound that can be heard clearly which may alert the killer, unlike when blessing Totem your characters do not make any humming sound and many killers do not know the blessing sound and think it is another sound from the map.
- When a Hex totem is blessed, the killer does not receive any audio alert indicating that the Hex perk is gone, which leads to matches where the killer thinks the Hex perk is still active for a long time, which happens a lot.
- Blessing a Hex Totem is the best way to avoid Hex: Pentimento because you save your team from 30% penalty, deny the killer a Hex perk, and revive the Totem.

|Boon perks|
Here I will write down the tips or common mistakes about each Boon perks.
- Boon: Circle of healing
One of the biggest mistakes is when you see all your team busy and you are just standing within range of this Boon if no one has stopped what they were doing after you have been standing for 5 seconds then it is better to do something else.
- Boon: Shadow step
Best used when you are repairing generators meaning if you find a totem near an incomplete generator then bless it! The killer won't be able to see your aura and even if the killer is coming the scratch marks are also hidden so you can easily run away or hide away without worrying about the killer finding you.
- Boon: exponential
It's about the totem location mentioned above and with the addition don't start recover if you're not in range of this Boon Instead crawl to the Boon range because you'll recover there 100% faster and get up.
- Boon: Dark Theory
This Boon can mess with the killer's muscle memory and help reduce the speed gap between you and the killer, especially against 110% speed killers, so make sure to place it near Loops or places where you can hold W.
- Boon: illumination
If you are in SoloQ this is very useful as it saves your team time searching for generators and chests and also helps you plan which generator to prioritize to prevent a 3 gens scenario or to prevent generators in a dead zone.
Take advantage of the second effect if you have other plans.
All of these examples of each Boon are assuming that you are using one Boon alone.

Fun facts:
- When comparing Boon totem and Hex totem, Boon totem is considered stronger than Hex totem, There are no Hex perks that can dispel the Boon totem while Boon perks can, meaning if the last remaining totem was the Boon totem and the killer had Hex: Noed then Noed would be unable to dispel the Boon totem , if anything it shows it's shows how powerful the Boon Totem is despite being in the Entity Realm.
- The Boon totem is associated with the survivor who blessed the totem, meaning that once the survivor escapes, dies, or is sacrificed, the Boon totem goes too.
- Blessing Totem gives you 1500 BP which is the same reward as cleansing Hex Totem.

As a long-term massager of boons, these are all great tips!
shhh don’t tell the killers though! lol1 -
It's better if they don't know, I like the killer who doesn't care about the Boon totem, because that allows me to bless any totem without worrying about it!

The things that drive me mad with Boon enjoyers - booning the killers Hex and I get that it is a Steam achievement as I had to do it too but this is a stupid achievement as it just wastes everyone's time, since it isn't like the killer doesn't know where your boon is and stomp out your wasted time booning it in seconds.
Secondly is re-booning the same totem a killer already stomped out, at that point you may as well just sit on a gen as it is more productive than wasting time boonin a totem a killer will almost certainly stomp out again in seconds.

This is a really painful achievement, anything that depends on luck is painful.

Why was the first tip about totem location ?

It wastes considerable time blessing a totem (especially a hex), having it snuffed then searching for another totem to bless. I think people strategically placing totems—as in after they’ve completed a gen—can be fine.

I don't understand what's going on, you guys are writing tips that I already wrote in my post + I explained that Hex totem blessing ""might"" be the best option but not always.
