DBD Classic - New Game Mode?
Would this ever happen? Is the original code for the old game lost?
This is one of the few games where watching old content actually makes me wish I could've played back then.

I miss old haddon field so much, I always go back to past ytd videos of mine when things was more fun like old coh and too many to list here.

A few games have done this recently and I think DBD should join them.
...Especially if we can extend it to October of 2017.

'Old Haddonfield', 'prenerf CoH' and 'fun' do not belong on the same continent, let alone the same sentence.
These things were brokenly unfair and obnoxious.
It would be a fun anniversary event, but trust me - a lot of the nostalgia for old DbD is a case of rose tinted glasses. I do miss the original visual style as it felt more 'horror', but the game was kind of a mess.

Let's be honest, you guys miss not "old gold dbd", but power trip from it on survivors. I miss a lot of things too, but I doubt after all these years I will have a joy from the game period, where 5 blinks Nurse or 5 Iri hatchets Huntress were the only killers people want to play as.
But at the same time, I wish I could have few chases on old Haddonfield or run across old blue Macmillan again just to feel this sweet and corrosive nostalgia.4 -
I do miss the aesthetics of the old Realms, despite any imbalances on them. Bring back the blues and the greens and nighttime corn! Old Haddonfield had its issues when playing killer, but I miss it nonetheless.
What isn't missed are permanently broken hooks, hatch standoffs, healing at pallets, insta moris, insta DS, insta heals, dribbling survs to hooks, actual infinites etc.

Back when killer was the most insufferable role to play as and survivor queue times were so long I could cook my dinner and still wait for a match.

I remember carrying the same Commodius for like a week at a time they lasted so long..

The original code still exists certainly. There are people who have through mods and their own servers played on prior patch versions, but its a fair amount of work. I think some content creators made videos on it a while back.

There was one time I literally took a whole ass shower (like, 20 minutes long), came back out and still sat in queue for 15 more minutes.

I would sometimes be able to watch most of an episode of King of the Hill or Futurama while I waited for my survivor queue to pop.
Unfortunately this is where deranking came in - you could either wait forever at Iri ranks or you'd derank down to Gold or something where queues were much faster.
