The Houndmaster's Dog vaults at a faster speed under specific conditions

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE:

Snug vaults vary in time depending on whether or not the Survivor is near the vault. If Snug's hitbox collides with the Survivor hurtbox during the vaulting animation it cancels the vault and the Grab begins early, bypassing the static 0.45s vault time.

I took a sample of 150 vaults on Snug, 75 on windows, 75 on pallets, and all in different scenarios and positions to determine why Snug's vaults were quicker. Below are the results, where the first 15 columns represent each individual sample in frames, and the ending two represent the means both in frames and in seconds.

All of these samples were recorded at 120FPS to ensure a higher precision at 1600x900. The individual sample collection is put in the videos section and is also separated by chapters to ensure easy skimming. Details on what each sample set is are in the description. Additionally, there is no audio as for many of these I was in a call with my friends.

Since 15 per situation is a small sample set, I also did some hypothesis testing in the second more-produced video to prove my point, if you'd like to do the same, the information you'd need for that is below.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED:

STEPS FOR FASTER SNUG VAULT TIME:

  1. Put Survivor near window, the best results occur when the Survivor is the same distance away from the vault as they would be when fast vaulting.
  2. Charge the Chase command and activate it through the vault.
  3. Snug will likely complete half or a little above half of the vault before grabbing the Survivor and cancelling the vault.
