Internet connection loss counted as DC...

Please implement a system where the game can decipher between an internet connection error and disconnecting… if a DC penalty will apply.
I've lost my internet connection in the middle of a game and it gave me a penalty for disconnecting as if I did it on purpose…

Unfortunately that would be impossible as otherwise it would just be very easy to manipulate your internet connection to replicate an internet issue rather than a rage quit. This is the reason why we keep the penalties short in the first instance (around a minute) so that by the time you're back in the lobby, your penalty if effectively over. If this keeps happening and that penalty time rises, then you will need to sort out your own internet connection, as that penalty will continue to increase.

And why just don't do "back in the match" function? Some of my friends lose their connection pretty often and nothing they can do to back into the match because of 3 seconds internet connection loss.

I think we all know the answer to this.

This would be a helpful feature!! Cause we can take the place we've lost which was filled by a bot!! I'd love to see better features implemented like this.

Yes, this just happened to me, my husband and my daughter for loss of internet, however my internet is fine and working. It has happened 3 times today just lagging and DC everyone in our lobby on PS4. 2 of us got 1 min 29 secs my daughter got 10 min ban.

Is it possible to implement a penalty for DC during loading screen? I'm finding a lot of people deliberately DC when they see a map offering they don't like and they get no penalty. Maybe make map offerings invisible to the opponent?

Would it be possible to implement a new system where if someone lost connection, they have the abilty to Rejoin the game? Granted, if someone DC on purpose then they would have the same option. However, if they refuse then they get a DC penalty. It's something that Overwatch 2 have.
….IT would be a good idea till I realized that the killer would end up tunneling the bot or rejoined just to learn the are on second hook or something crazy, lol.

By the time a person rejoins the match, it would be over, so I don't see the point…

This is their reasoning, yes, but I think it is just the easy solution for not implementing a system to reconnect.
I rarely have internet issues, but if I have them, I DC for a few seconds and am reconnected again. In DBD this would kick me out of the match, in other games I can reconnect. I would guess if I could reconnect in DBD, I would be gone for 30 seconds. And while this can mean that I died on Hook because I reached struggled and could not hit the Skill Checks, it can also mean that I just got caught and hooked, but can go on playing (just with 1 Hook Stage less). Or, it could simply mean that I stand AFK next to a Gen for half a minute.
Just saying "The game is over once they rejoin" is just too easy. I think many players would be able to keep playing after an actual DC.

While this is mostly true, I think those of us that have suffered this kind of issues sometimes would be happy to join to an almost over game and keep our bps rather than losing your time, bps and items/offerings (if any). Because sometimes this happens early in the match, but most of the times it happens when the game is interesting and or already won (though I do suspect that in this case it must be an action taken by one of the players and as such report them by stating 'suspected hacker').
But yeah, it wouldn't be the first time I'm somehow kicked out of a game I'm performing well or have achieved a difficult or annoying challenge and I lose progress and bp. That's awful, tbh.0
