Conclusion: July tends to be a reliable, strong month for Dead by Daylight in terms of Steam player count.
The only exceptions were caused by community reaction to DC penalty rule enforcement (2019), community burnout from the generator kick meta (2022) and game-breaking technical bugs caused by Unreal Engine 5 (2024).
