Give killers individual hook counters

Let us see which survivors we've hooked, and how many times. Our brains could do with working slightly less overtime. I won't be gaslit into thinking this is an unreasonable suggestion, because survivor base info is so extreme by comparison. And because killer has to mentally juggle more things, being that he's facing 4 players with unique builds, hook states, skill, and game knowledge, all of which he has to keep track of lest he make a game-losing mistake. And that's just counting survivors, not even loops, gen progress, and so on.

In addition to that, it would give killers more incentive to hook instead of slug. It's the obvious change to, maybe not solve, but to buy more time on the slugging issue, because it's inevitable that killers will move to slugging anyway, so long as hooking remains unviable. Speaking of killers doing things anyway, the lack of individual hook counters doesn't stop killers from tunneling 1 person out. They're gonna do that no matter what. So all you're doing by hiding individual hooks is punishing fairer killers who happen to lose track of hooks, and now can't fall back on playing smart and getting someone out when they're on the track to losing.

I keep saying something along the same lines. Killers who like to spread out hooks rather than tunnel are the ones who get punished with this lack of info in the HUD.

Killers who tunnel don't need the info. It's calling "tunneling" because they have tunnel vision, they focus on one survivor and get them out of the match before turning to the next survivor. Hook counters would mean nothing to them because they're ignoring macro play so they don't have to keep track of any info, it's just "chase, down, hook, chase, down, hook."

I've accidentally killed survivors when I didn't mean to because I can't always keep track of this stuff. I try, but I'm human, I'm going to mess up sometimes. Not getting this info hurts people like me or people who spread hooks and it means nothing, absolutely nothing, to anyone who tunnels.

At first I wanted to say, it encourages tunneling, but you convinced me otherwise. It would be a nice change.

I would go out of my way to get those stacks over most anything else, and I bet most others felt the same way. Gotta get my stonks!

Very much so. Hooking was a lot more satisfying with the BBQ stacks. After BBQ lost the BP stacks, I stopped caring about hooking as much. I became a lot more likely to slug rather than fight for hooks if the survivors had Boil Over or Sabo or anything.

Yeah, flashlights need to be fixed. Tired of being blinded from off screen. Another reason not to hook.

I wonder what the heck could be causing that. Honestly what kind of spaghetti code could do such a thing

I do not believe this for one second. Killers are always tunneling so no its a bad idea and will just make it worst. Aura reading perks and unhook notifcations is the easy way to tunnel out people.

Also even if you do not tunnel sadly the good must suffer for the Bad. Take distortion for example, not everyone like me who ran it was being selfish hiding rats letting teamates die or not contributing to team.

I do gens, flashbang or light save, take hits or even hook trades but killers wouldn't not have any of that and got it gutted. So the good ones like me now get punished for those bad ones who used it incorrectly( solo q) not swfs might I add since 4 distortion via swf was much effectively used compare to solo q potatoes who used it wrong.

Killers with lethal especially blight and huntress being the top users of it made us lol when they see 0 people at start and dc, that is one of the proper ways it was used. So in conclusion am saying while there may be a few who do not tunnel it is what it is. I do not tunnel yet am good at keeping track of each survivor I hook unless they are literal clones with the same outfit and or character.

It's been something blatantly needed for years. As the community has pointed out multiple times, tunnelers keep track of who is hooked anyway…so seeing hook counts makes no difference to them. This would simply REDUCE the amount of times someone gets double hooked, because some killers (like myself) prefer to AVOID double-hooking people. Killers who tunnel already are keeping track of hook states anyway.
