Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Freddy is Overbuffed

Even as someone who repeatedly called for a Freddy buff I can appreciate the lack of balance here. Freddy shouldn't be in a state where any brand new killer player can stomp out a 4k on the first or second try. It's egregious.

Besides that, there is NO SUFFICIENT AUDIO CUE before a dream snare projectile is launched. It feels like power audio cues are important to BHVR so I'm here to say it's much less clear when Freddy is launching a dream snare than when Huntress is lobbing a hatchet, Pyramid Head is using power, etc.

Freddy feels on track to be the next Skull Merchant (with players instantly DC'ing out of annoyance, not because of his strength) if he isn't balanced more in the coming months.

Edit: For those who seemed to only read the title and not the body of the post, the TLDR here is he needs more distinct audio cues to be less annoying to vs. We don't all have a swf for callouts. Most of us are relying on soloq teammates to pull it together. His buffs don't need removing, just better cues added for everything new in his kit.

    worse clown

it is new players/casuals. new player will not understand strengths or weaknesses of a killer. i suggest letting it go.

Well I can tell you people actually good at looping and using his counterplay will win against him.

Besides that he's not worth a audio cue, the difference between those killer is that they injure directly, his snares to compare only elevate him slightly above a pig and under clown regarded to chase strength.

    Nope, still weak.

    Pallets? A decoration.

    Snares? You have clocks everywhere.

Teleport? Sure it's better, but expect survivors to catch on the healing teleport counterplay. Also, see point above.

No one said SM was powerful. Only that she was annoying to face back in the day.

I'm a P100 Trapper main with 3k hours. I know what a 'strong' killer is. If you want to talk about weak killers we should be talking about Trapper or Hag.

Not sure who you're referring to with your reply, but I'm no casual, nor am I 'new' at 3k hours.

You kind of just made my point, though. Even clown has better audio cues for when a bottle is coming your way. There's the sound when he lobs it, a delay, and then the shatter sound on impact. With dream snares comparatively it's almost like you get the audio cue and the snare is already there. Same thing with Pyramid head. You have a clear, distinct sound when he starts the sword attack, a delay as well as a visual cue for where it will land, and THEN it lands.

Only asking for a tune up for Freddy to match this.

I'd still like better audio cues, just the same. Unfortunately, I'm only in a swf once or twice a week. Most times I have to depend on soloq teammates to make my two gen chase worth it.

I'm not saying his new buffs need to be removed, just more cues added.

And I said he's not worth it because he doesn't injure and is relatively weak still.

No he's not or more than half of Survs are speed cheating so it doesn't even make a difference. I can hit an asleep Surv with hindered in the middle of a deadzone and watch them still make it to a pallet. Infact half the time, I hit an asleep Surv with a snare and literally watch them speed up. It's hilarious to hit someone with a snare and they still loop twice around a big rock. Almost all my games are against SWF though, hardly any team I face is SoloQ.

What Freddy is, is a SoloQ stomper but that's every Killer. SWF have no trouble against him, or any Killer besides Nurse and Blight.
