Everything about Houndmaster that still feels bad….

  • it’s unnecessarily clunky to aim the search command at generators, especially if they are on a different floor.
  • It’s unnecessarily clunky to aim the search on a different floor, when she’s not trying to target an object. It’s especially awful in places like the RPD main lobby, or the main building in Toba, if the survivor has a giant loop that involves going up and down stairs, and the killer wants to use the search command to traverse the loop faster
  • The search command doesn’t prioritize the direction the killer is looking. If I’m trying to use the search command to traverse a loop faster because I’m in chase, then I clearly want to loop in the direction I’m facing. But the dog sometimes decides to loop the opposite direction, which didn’t help at all.
  • Just trying to aim the search at the max distance (not on an object), so I can traverse the map faster, is sometimes unnecessarily clunky. If the middle of my screen ever points to an object, it feels like the search command breaks, and I have to offset the search command vertically.
  • The redirect command is still unnecessarily clunky. I’ve played enough Nurse and Wesker to understand how double dashes work, but the dog’s 2nd dash is absolutely awful to hit with, especially if there are any line of sight blockers, that prevent the killer from seeing where the survivor is while the camera change is happening. And the dog’s hitbox is so small that it feels like survivors can just micro dodge it unless the dog is bouncing off a wall.
  • The search command and redirect command is most of her power, and they all feel too clunky to use. The only thing she does that isn’t clunky, is single dog dash when the survivor is animation locked or stuck in a narrow place, and the killer has full line of sight on the survivor for the entire time they are charging the dog dash.
  • There are still issues where the dog is supposed to be running back to the killer, but is running so slowly that it never catches up unless the killer either stops moving or runs towards the dog.
  • Houndsense should increase survivor noises, regardless if the survivor is healthy, injured, or in the dying state. This is because deep wounds is super underwhelming on this killer, and it makes hound sense feel super weak.

    Yes.

The Search is really jank. It should've been fixed a long time ago.

The Search path is really unforgiving, you step off of it for 0.1 second and lose the speed instantly. Add it to the fact Snug likes to take a scenic route and you get a really buggy mess.

She also has the bug where Snug just decides to stay in one place and not move.

Houndsense still doesn't do much (albeit the highlight is nice).

I'm very surprised she has lasted past Freddy Rework with that Janky Search Power, either everyone at the office was busy on freddy and its been delayed. I mean I still enjoy playing her, but the search jank, leaves much to be desired.

Houndmaster's search still feels awful, even with today's patch.

Just go to RPD, stand in a few locations on the top floor of the main lobby, and try to target the search command to various places on the ground in the main lobby. And then try to actually target the generators on the bottom floor, even though the killer is still on the top floor of the main lobby.

Notice how awful it still is.
