Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Feedback: Dead by Daylight has the worst Anti-Cheat of any PvP game I ever played

Dead by Daylight honestly has pretty terrible Anti-Cheat in my experience. I played other pvp multiplayer games in the past, and while in most games I played regularly I got cheaters from time to time (except Hearthstone, never got a cheater there), in all except for one I got proportionally less cheaters. However, even in that game (Minecraft Hypixel), if I reported a cheater they usually got banned within minutes to hours, meanwhile DBD usually takes like 3 days to ban one.

This is incorrect. I've recently made a report on a 2v8 hacker. I was playing killer. The survivor was hacking. Sent them video evidence, ingame reported it, and boom. 12 hours later. Banned.

    It depends.

Obvious cheaters are banned within 12 hours of the support report. On weekends or public holidays it takes a little longer.

Subtle cheaters sometimes take several days to get banned. My guess is the video gets reviewed by multiple people or professionals that can tell the difference between ping, game or server issues before any action is taken.

Server based anti cheat checks would be nice because I don't think they exist.

They do not, sadly the servers do not look for any "sanity checks" at all.

You obviously never played any battle royal game.

I see cheaters often in this game. Its actually sad seeing a killer use wall hacks in 2v8 because they already get so much aura reading in the first place. So them coming straight for you at end game is a dead giveaway but just seriously sad. Seen killers who see through walls even when they shoulnt. Then ive seen survivors who pop gens as if all their skill checks were great skill checks. I dont care how many hours you have under your belt, there is no way that you can get a great skill check every single freaking time. The worst part is, it is actually hard to determine who to report when 4 gens pop in less than a couple of minutes into the game almost in a chain because… you cant see which of them were doing it. Becomes easier though when its a full swf team. It is also easy to see when you run after a survivor and you cant seem to catch up to them even though they dont jump over anything or use pallets. Its like they run as fast as the killer does. Makes me wonder why bhvr just does not make an anti cheat that would actually monitor what data is being sent and retrieved and to use AI to look for patterns in games.

One problem with sanity checks is that cheaters can force cheats on innocent players. If there were sanity checks, then cheaters could get innocent people banned on demand. Sucks, I know.

Just a heads up, BHVR (i believe it was Mandy?) clarified that getting that feedback popup only means that they read your report. It doesn't mean they banned anyone. Sometimes the "appropriate" action is no action. Thats what they mean by appropriate - if they feel they were cheating, it's a ban. If they feel they were not cheating or not enough evidence, they drop the report. In either case, it's the "appropriate" action taken.

Yeah I know, which is why the video proof is required as well. I think everyone can agree that a trail replay system would be so invaluable for tons of reasons, not just reporting stuff. Maybe in a potential DBD2?

Trial replays would be awesome in general - especially on how to improve at the game.
