Cannot run under Virtual Machine without Virtual Machine

I've been playing Dead by Daylight since 2017 on my PC via Steam and have switched to a better PC in 2021. I never had any issues with running the game, but when I tried to start it today, the error "Cannot run under Virtual Machine" popped up.
I have searched through many articles, have checked every place on my PC in which you could find a Virtual Machine and tested several things to make the game run again. Nothing worked and nowhere was a Virtual Machine to be found. All articles were also referring to those who actual use a Virtual Machine, I have not found anyone who was not using one and got this error, like in my case.
I am confused, I am overwhelmed, I am exhausted and I don't know what to do at this point. I just want to play the game? Three hours of research and the game still doesn't run. Nothing works.
Please help or fix this problem. This shouldn't happen.
