Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Communication between survivors

DBD Mobile did a pretty good job at allowing survivors to communicate. There wasn't the need to type and a message could be sent in less than a second. Since we had to pick between what messages we could send, this made sure the communication wasn't too strong, and therefore it was kept some-what fair for killers. I wanted to introduce a similar communication system in a different game called World of Tanks. Instead of having to type, players are able to select pre made message with just the press of a button. If you press and hold the letter V on your keyboard, this selection wheel pops up, from there you can move your cursor to whatever option you want, and when you are hovering over the one you want, just release the letter V and that message will go to your team mates. In the second screenshot you can see Im hovering over the option with the check mark on the bottom right. I think solo Q survivor could benefit from this if BHVR implemented something similar. BHVR could come up with a list of phrases, then a survivor would have the option to choose 5 or 6 of these phrases to bring into a match. If BHVR ever deemed this too strong, they could reduce the number of phrases survivors are able to bring into a match, or they could remove specific phrases they think communicate information that may be too valuable. Console players would get their own dedicated button they would have to hold while making this selection.

A list of phrases I think are helpful:

"The killer is near the main building"

"The killer in the shack"

"The killer is near me"

"The killer is guarding the hook"

"Open the gates"

"Finish the generator"
