Nowhere to Hide needs a small rework
This is a good perk. It does not need to follow the killer after a gen kick. It would still be perfectly viable if this perk just read the auras of survivors in a radius around the generator from the generator's static position.
It is terrible design to have the aura reading follow the killer because high mobility killers like Nurse and Blight, which are the most powerful killers in the game, disproportionately gain way more of an advantage using this perk in its current state compared to a slower killer.
Change the way it works from this —>
- The Auras of all Survivors within 24 metres of your location are revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds.
To —>
- The Auras of all Survivors within 24 metres of the generator are revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds.
Perks like Barbecue and Chili aren't even as oppressive as Nowhere to Hide, because by the time a Nurse gets across the map after seeing the aura of a survivor with BBQ, she won't still have melee range aura reading like she does with Nowhere to Hide. BBQ and Chili's power is reined in by the fact it doesn't read auras unless a survivor is a certain distance from the hook. And a perk like Scourge Hook: Floods of rage is reined in by the fact it requires a Scourge Hook. And they both require a survivor to be hooked or unhooked to activate. Darkness Revealed reads auras around lockers, not the killer after opening a locker. Darkness Revealed also has a cooldown.
Nowhere to Hide also doesn't have any cooldown or requirements attached to it other than simply kicking a generator, which is a primary action for killers. They don't lose much at ALL with this perk, and like I said at the start, the strongest and most mobile killers are the most lethal users of Nowhere to Hide. Which reminds me that the perk Lethal Pursuer extends Nowhere to Hide's aura reading, and these are very typically paired together.
You guys nerfed Distortion which I think is okay, but please do something about Nowhere to Hide following the killer. There are so many perks in the game that require weird little chores to activate them, and Nowhere to Hide just seemingly dodged every restraint to keep it fair between all the killers.

Do we just nerf every perk in the game because it’s strong on 2 of the 38 killers? It doesn’t need a change. I would rather Blight run this instead of 4 slowdowns.

It’s not my fault that 2 killers and a couple more honorable mentions are so absolutely BUSTED that perks with zero real requirements like Nowhere to Hide are this annoying to go against.
So to answer your question, YES! The perk needs to change to accommodate the busted high mobility killers on the roster that take heavy advantage of this.
Killer mains got Distortion nerfed, so don’t get all bent out of shape when survivors ask for changes to make the game less annoying for us too!

Consider my shape bent because I have lost 5 perks as a Huntress main because of Nurse and Blight. Those killer just need to go honestly.

You won't get any disagreements there from me! Fun sucker killers.

Being fixed to the generator makes more sense because it is getting ridiculous now with the flood of high mobility killers running around with their portable baby monitors farming easy hits.
I guess it will only be a matter of time until the devs make some changes

or you'll just realize that those big red lockers are on the map exist for a reason (+distortion is still a good perk)

Agreed, it does not need the moving range to be a good perk. The moving range is a bit too strong especially on high mobility killers. Removing it would still keep NTH as a good option for finding survivors near generators and would not kill the perk at all.

I think its probably easier to nerf 2 killers rather than buff 36 of them because of 1 perk.

I can’t tell if you agree with changing Nowhere to Hide or you’re disagreeing here but…
Technically it would be extremely easy to apply this small change (hardly a nerf) to Nowehere to Hide.
They’ve shown us for years that they don’t want to nerf Nurse and Blight in any significant way. There’s hardly a point in requesting that.0 -
I think the perk is fine. My point is that we shouldn't nerf a perk because it is good in the hands of 2 killers, 2 killers who are also difficult to play, and who, at average MMR, usually land at the middle to upper middle of the pack in terms of kill rates (in blights case) or as the lowest in the game (in nurses case)

It should make survs scream instead of showing their auras, it doesn't take any skill to use so telling survivors about it is they least they could do

I'd be okay with there being a "Weave Attunement" style icon at the bottom of the screen to know the killer has this perk. I can pretty easily tell when the killer has it when I'm literally next to a gen and they go right for me.
BUT, when a Nurse blinks at me from 30+ meters away from the gen and I didn't get a chance to see her kick it, and I have zero idea or indication she sees exactly where I am— it's ridiculous.
It would also massively help new and unaware players out to let them to stop sandbagging the team and crouching 5 meters away from the gen every time the killer kicks it.
