Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

The Problem with Chaos Shuffle

Randomizers were something asked for by the community for a long time, ever since the randomizer challenges became popular.

However, at this point I've come to a conclusion with Chaos Shuffle. You may as well just make a perkless mode, because it would feel almost identical. The majority of perks (killer and survivor) in Dead by Daylight have minimal effects, require other perks to function, require the other side to bring specific perk types, or just straight up don't function/do anything/conflict with other perks. I just had 3 back to back games with red herring, which is a perk at the very bottom of pickrates for a good reason. As killer I have had unbound several times in a row, or old beast of prey, etc etc. just very redundant perks or perks that work best with builds around them.

Because of this, I want to propose a change to Chaos Shuffle to make it feel more "chaotic". Rather than having 4 entirely randomized perks, what if instead there was a massive pool of community builds around random gimmicks, like boon builds, anti-healing builds, quad exhaustion perk builds, funny stuff like that. Every individual within the trial would have something to do with their build or a focus. It would still have an extreme amount of randomness to it, but without the feeling of being basically perkless 90% of the time. Wouldn't it be more fun if you got no mither you were guaranteed to at least get perks that synergize with it or are at least compatible? Or if Mad Grit always came with agitation or an entire backpack build.

The point is, I think "Chaos Shuffle" would be more genuinely chaotic if all 5 players in a game had 5 different things all going on at once, instead of the current really repetitive "nothing burger" builds. I am aware that this is also a root issue of the game where most perks are really weak, but I think this would be a fun idea regardless.
