Dying Light

What's everyone's thoughts? Good Perk/Bad Perk?
I'll give my two cents, the part of the perk that makes it super unappealing is giving the obsession a massive buff for mediocre late game slowdown.
How would i change it? Remove the obsession buff and then make the obsession get 10% increased hooking and healing every time their hooked. That way if the obsession is ignored there is no downsides.

I agree with you.
Dying light is a "win more" - perk that does not help you when you need the help most (early game). The slowdown isn't even that impactful, and the buff to the obsession on top of the perk disabeling itself when the obsession dies just makes it a mid perk in every regard.
Do you see more people using it??? That be a new one for me. Have not seen that perk in action for years (with the exception being me when I try variety builds).

I could write a whole essay on why this is a bad perk, but in short:
it works only for 2 people or 3, but you don't progress in it
it basically gives a free botany perk for obsession
it works best when you're already winning.0 -
Think the clown guy sent otz a vid with his new meta build which included Dying Light

i don't like it because it only gets good when you're already stomping it would be better if dying light worked in reverse where the more you won the worse it gets

It's a common perk combine with thana usually done by plague and legion which they try or will benefit off it since survivors go by this stop wasting time healing rule which I do not go by that. The min I see dying light with thana damn right amma stay healed. Other killers now I don't think it helps them at all.

Why am I not surprised...

The Perk is alright. It works good on Killers which discourage Healing aka Plague and Legion. And not every Perk needs to be good on every Killer, even if they would remove the Obsession-Part, the Perk would still probably only be really useable on select Killers. And I think that the Perk is decent on two Killers is alright. Its not like Killers dont have quite a selection of Slowdown-Perks to choose from, they dont need Dying Light if it does not synergize well with their Killer.
IMO the main reason why Dying Light is underwhelming is because Tunneling is so strong. If you turn the game into a 3v1 with 4 Gens to go, you already won and would not need Dying Light anymore, regardless if it would take time or not to increase the Slowdown or regardless if it benefits the Obsession or not.

It's fine - and imo fine is a perfectly okay place for a perk to be - but it is deeply "win more".
It only starts to outpace more traditional delay strategies at 6 or more hooks, at which point a killer could easily have a kill on the board and Dying Light feels unnecessary.
That's not to say I think it should scale more - it'd risk being too good in tunnel stituations if you did that, but I do think it's just very messy design for a perk to only really involve itself when the survivors are already hugely on the backfoot.

Why do we as killers complain about Deja Vu being strong with its 6% gen speed but then say dying light is garbage when it only takes two hooks to slow the whole team down by 6%? It’s a very overrated perk that is very good.
-3 -
because deja vu is 1 of 16 survivor perks that requires literally nothing, dying light 1 of 4 requires hooks and mostly only works on 2 survivors or doesn't progress if you hook obsession but if you ignore obsession you lose pressure

I’ve seen this pop up a lot in chaos shuffle and I have no idea what it does.
I really think BHVR need to update their UI so status icons can have an explanation in game.
