Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Can we please stop gutting maps BTS for survivors?

I know there’s heavily survivor sided maps like current eyrie, badham, disturbed ward, gas heaven etc but can the devs please stop shadow nerfing every map bts every patch? There has been so many maps recently that have had their filler loops and maze tiles either reduced by a lot or have been made significantly weaker. I was playing on borgo recently and one of the maze tiles just straight up didn’t have a window. Then I played on Greenville and the long wall jungle gym was so short that the killer wasn’t in any threat when I vaulted the window since they could walk around with little worry on if I could make it back to the pallet. Then I played on haddonfield, rancid abattoir, forgotten ruins and many other where there were complete dead zones with 1 really bad pallet there. I just want to know why the devs keep shadow nerfing so many maps every patch without even bothering to put it in the patch notes. I want the maps to be balanced but the way they go about balancing maps is super frustrating since they always lean to one side or the other.

it might not even be intentional since the maps arent "set" with tiles they spawn without pattern. I do however FULLY agree that the current state of bhvrs thought process when it comes to maps isnt the best (take greenville for example) main building is practically a no go zone when the gens done and the rest of the map is just pallet after pallet after pallet.

I agree with all you said except eyrie being survivor sided. Ever since they shrunk and alter it I fail to see how people think it's survivor sided + the gens being so close and easy to 3 gen. All the annoying pot holes, very little windows and ofc most the garbage pallets I fail to see how but its probably just a me only problem. I hate the map ever since they changed it. Hope the new one will be better.

They are nerfing them because majority of the maps are still survivorsided to this day due to pallets everywhere and the size of them. Their latest rework on the maps has made pallets spawn like 2 feet from each other.

bc its so open you can see the killer coming from a mile away the killer is FORCED to break walls in main otherwise its an infinite for most killers (and its in general a terrible map for low mobility/m1 killers

idk what latest rework you’re talking about. Their most recent official rework of a map was haddonfield last spring and they completely gutted that map from head to toe for survivors. The map lost a third of its size, all the houses were made significantly weaker to the point where you cannot run them themselves anymore and they added a horrible rng to the pallets. Sometimes you can get a nice number of pallets like 13-15 but more often than not the map will have like 8-10 pallets and half of them will be those horrible new edge map bush tiles they added last year.

    It's still quite survivor sided.

The tiles are easy to loop through, main building is strong, along with shack existing.

The only primary issue is the gen spawns, which are mostly centered towards middle near the tombs. It's still heavily sided towards survivor, I would still prefer a Garden of Joy but Eyrie is quite strong if you know the tiles of the map.

I agree and that change was stupid but that's 1 map out of what 59 maps in the game, right now? The Ormond rework is a great example too of a bad rework. Let's not forget that they are adding another variation of Eyrie Of Crows with double pallets from The Greenville Square map. Maps are one of if not the biggest issues in the game imo.
