Ken Kaneki Changes - Nerfs/Changes

I’m making this post as someone who plays both sides. I main people Weaker and Blight and play survivor pretty passively. 

First to talk about my experience with this killer. When playing him I find how he feels overall fun. However, two large things are holding him back in my option when playing him as a killer. Firstly while the power feels good and is very fun it feels very easy to hit. Because of that I don’t feel any personal achievement when getting a hit. Second; after you hit with your power you are essentially forced into being an M1 killer with the exception of a few loops

On the survivor side I share similar feelings. A boring Chase power that is generally unavoidable and then forcing you into playing against an M1 killer (Which can allow you to lead in chases very easily, which again, causes some bordem)


-Suggested power change-

I feel like a harder killer is generally well received. On both sides. Good examples were killers like Wesker, Blight, or Hillbilly. While two of these killers aren’t particularly new; many somewhat experienced survivors generally find them fun to face with rewarding counterplay. 

I think the first change is that the M2 should be manual in the dash. Similar to the nurse. It could work throughout the dash or it could only work during or before the slide. I feel any would be fine and would provide unique gameplay with other changes to accommodate. Second I don’t think this manual power should immediately equate to allowing him to down with the power. I still think before enraged if he hits twice or more in the power it should still just provide deep wound. However, I think his enraged should be changed. I view something similar to an Oni bar. After getting enough hits with the POWER (M1 hits wouldn’t make it go up) His enraged mode would allow him to also down (Not insta down but if injured you can finish them off). At the moment I believe a hit on all four survivors would be good to activate this mode. Maybe it could be an extra mode beyond the original one (It would be cool if he would go into his Kakuja form). I believe this provides some great reward to his power while providing more counterplay with his power. Along with these changes some nerfs wouldn’t be such a big deal like removing how his vaults work in his power.


I would love to hear feedback on this if it sounds bad or if you do like it maybe a repost. I would love to turn more killers into more skill based killers.

    This is the problem with you folks….his leap simply is not enough. If his ranged attack was completely gutted, then it would be balanced.

    So no killer….I am tired of all these post in general of people just wanting to gut a killer. All the nerfs I have seen=literally a killer without a power. Its old. I have expressed this a lot now.

    Fix his hitbox, Problem solved.

    You misunderstand me. I MAIN the Ghoul. I love Tokyo Ghoul and its movement. When I released this post, I wanted a way to down both to play with the power longer and as a way to have more skill expression beyond M1 Looping. I think his vault ability is quite boring and many people are overplaying its strength, especially on certain loops. Usually good hugging or going on the shorter side of the loop, and snatch and easy re-vault. Also, I never said anything about removing his dash. I said force it to be timed. The other nerfs wouldn't be too bad if he could down THATS why I suggested them. I did NOT say they should do those no matter what.
