Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

What actually is a "Surrender" especially for Killers?

So I am wondering, can someone please explain how exactly the whole "Surrender" option works for killers? First of all, yes I know what the word itself means, but that's why to me it seems backwards.

We have two reasons a killer can choose to surrender.

1. All remaining survivors are bots.
2. The survivors have not finished a generator in 10 minutes.

Both of these things should not be happening, and if they are, then it means one thing. The survivors are refusing to play the game (the reason doesn't matter.)

So, in these cases, based on the word surrender, this means that the killer is supposed to accept a loss? That's what doesn't make sense to me. If the survivors are refusing to play the game, the killer should not have to surrender, they should automatically win.

Also, to be clear, this is not intended to fall into a debate on slugging and whether it's fair or not, this is meant to be solely about why a killer should accept a loss because the survivors straight up refuse to play the game AT ALL.

I'm not sure that these surrenders are explicitly meant to represent losses, but maybe more to alleviate annoying match states.

I had written more, but then I saw the option in-game for the first time. It actually says "Abandon".

So I imagine the idea is to not consider the option necessarily always tied to doing well or doing poorly, but rather to just enable people to avoid the most annoying game states when the match essentially already over.

these surrender options for killers don't fodo anything and are there to justify the anti slug mechanic for survivor. unless your in a swf that quits or the survivors are memeing those 10 minutes you'll never get the killer surrender options

I still want a surrender option for if you don't get at least 4-5 hooks before all 5 gens are done as a "I forfeit, good job!" option. I'm tired of having to play to the end of games that I clearly lost but the Survivors want to drag out.

Same here the Surrender Option is absolutly Useless on Killer Side, but many Survivor Flame about things like The Killer is OP Dead Nerf him, The killer is favored by Behaviour, killers are generally too strong and many other things, so you want to use the surrender as Survivor, but killer, They has to suffer and sit out the entire game...

Actualy i find it is Depressing all the Health Updates are made for Survivor feeled, and it will give Player where Abuse the Systems Later so that the Killer will ever get Deranks or any else

When you surrender the match ends right away. Any remaining survivors matches are considered nullified, same as a hatch escape. So its as if your match with that survivor didn't happen and your MMR is neither increased nor decreased. If you killed 2 other survivors though those survivors are 2 won matches that increase your MMR.

Ah, if it registers as a hatch escape, that's fine. I mean those content creators on a kill streak might not agree, but well I don't care about such things.

Funny thing is it's not even called "Surrender" in-game, it is called "Abaddon". On both sides. It replaces the "Disconnect" option in your menu.

I'd rather it just be "If in end game collapse you can Abaddon the match with no penalty." no matter how many hooks you've gotten. I'm not going to walk over to the open Exit Gate to watch the Survivors do their butt wiggle and would rather not have to stand here on the other side of the map for the full timer.
