My Attempt at a Skull Merchant Rework
The goal of this rework is to not only make her more interesting/fun to play as/against, but also to have more skill expression. Another challenge is to try to keep her identity as a stealth/trap killer, AND still making her unique enough to stand out from the rest of the crowd.
There may be a few things that contradict each other since I started writing this all the way back before Merchant received her initial rework. I thought since she's somewhat of a hot topic now Id revisit it.
With that being said, lets get into it.
EYES IN THE SKY
Inspired by the dark mangas created by her father, The Skull Merchant studies and relentlessly hunts her prey using the latest in surveillance technology.
The Skull Merchant starts with 5 drones in her inventory. Pressing the Primary Power Button places a Drone which surveys an area in front of it while quietly hovering in the air. If a Drone has direct line of sight of a Survivor for some time, they become Locked On.
A Survivor may interact with a Drone to hack it. If successful, the Drone returns to the Killers inventory after some time, but are stuck with a Claw Trap. A Survivor with a Claw Trap cannot disable other Drones and cannot gain Lock On. If unsuccessful, they become Locked On.
Special Ability: Radar
Holding the Primary Power Button opens a Radar for the Killer. Survivors who were recently scanned, Vulnerable, or who have a Claw Trap are all revealed to the Killer. Survivors with a Claw Trap get notified when they are being tracked.
Using the Radar, the Skull Merchant may select a Drone to recall it, or cause it to Surge. Surging a Drone applies Hindered to any Survivor within its radius and any Survivor that's Locked On becomes Vulnerable.
Special Stance: Hunters Stance
Tap the Secondary Power Button to enter Hunters Stance. While in Hunters Stance the Skull Merchant crouches down and gains the Undetectable status effect. Survivors who are freshly revealed on the Radar by any means are revealed by Killer Instinct.
While in Hunter Stances, press and hold the Attack Button to charge Hunters Leap. The longer it is charged the farther she travels. If she hits a Survivor who is Vulnerable, they are put into the Dying State.
CLARIFICATIONS/VISUALIZATIONS
There are gonna be numbers mentioned how ever none of these would be concrete of course, its simply to have a better picture of what it could look like.
Drones
-Drones have a radius of 20 meters with a horizontal 90 degree cone in front of them. (They do not rotate)
-Crouching or standing still prevents some one from being scanned
-The radius at which the Drone surveys is only revealed to the Skull Merchant
-A drone will shine a red light intermittently, making them slightly more visible, to compensate they're also quieter by default.
-When a Drone is disabled, it is available to the Skull Merchant again once the Survivors Claw Trap expires.
Surge
-Surging a Drone has a delay of 3 seconds, the Drone will then glow red and has an explosion radius of 12 meters.
-Surging a Drone will return the Drone to the Skull Merchant
-Surging has a cooldown of 45 seconds
-Surging a Survivor and afflicting them with Vulnerable has a duration of 75 seconds.
Lock On
-For a Survivor to be Locked On it takes 12 seconds of being scanned. They do not get a visual of when their Lock On meter is being filled, how ever they get a warning once they reach 75%, and the sound continues to play if they're getting scanned (The warning sound is the same as if you've been scanned in the current patch. Example in the link below)

-Lock On will begin decaying after 20 seconds of being out of sight of a Drone.
-Lock On lasts for 45 seconds.
-Once Locked On, their timer appears on the HUD.
-Getting scanned by a Drone while already fully Locked On or have a Claw Trap will provide the killer with Killer Instinct for 3 seconds while in Hunters Stance
-A Survivor going into the dying state by any means cleanses Lock On.
Hunters Stance
-Movement speed reduced to 3.8m/s
-Crouch and Uncrouch transition is 2 seconds.
-Charge time for Leap : 2 seconds, must be charged at minimum 70%
-Full Charge has a distance of 8 meters
-Missing Hunters Leap has a recovery of 2.5 seconds
-Unlike the Demogorgons Shred, Hunters Leap can go over gaps
-Downing a Survivor with a leap will have a special animation of lifting the Survivor up into the air, then grab the Survivor by the neck and putting them on her shoulder
-Hunters Leap slides when colliding with a wall (unless the end of the attack hits the wall)
Claw Traps
-Claw Traps have a timer of 60 seconds
-Claw Traps are destroyed upon taking a hit
-Will flash red and beep if currently being tracked by the Radar.
Radar
-Moves at 4.6m/s
-Tracks a Survivor for 10 seconds when initially scanned
-Color coded depending how the Survivor is being tracked. White is a Survivor being scanned, yellow is a Claw Trap, Red is Vulnerable.
FINAL NOTES
Once again, there are probably things Im missing considering how long I started writing this, I was thinking of writing add ons how ever Im gonna wait and see if people actually like the rework. If you have any questions or if you see something wrong, feel free to let me know
