Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Blood Gens have Bloodpoints (and Emblem) Issues

Hello Everyone,

After a whole night of playing only the Event Queue, I can say that the Blood Gens have more than an issue when it's about rewarded bloodpoints, and this can be problematic considering the whole event is based on Bloodpoints.

  • Blood Gens don't grant Repair points: So, interacting with the new thing of the event makes the game progress, but it doesn't count as repairing category, this means you only get event points for repairing the Blood Gens.
  • Blood Gens don't grant Lightbringer Emblem Points: With Blood Gens not being considered as real generators, this is also valid for the Emblem System (I keep thinking reaching Iri I as both sides needs changes, it's the second time in a few months where in the middle of a Grade Reset there's a mode that makes more complicated reaching Iri I, with 2v8 that completely didn't consider the progresses: with Emblem System and Grades not being used for matchmaking, I think it should become a "How much time you invest" system, also to help the new players at getting points to level up their characters)
  • Blood Gens don't grant many event points, if not to the one who pops the gen: This has been a problem for many events, but here it's more noticeable than ever. You get a number really far from 1K for pouring blood in a generator (200 points with Offering, if I'm not wrong), and the big thing is only if you pop the generator. I remember a Lunar New Year event of many years ago where whenever a gen would pop everyone would grant the points, and I think that should be the way for next events or even this one if we're in time to correct this with a hotfix.
  • Blood Moon Offerings are "something", but not the best choice: Your bloodpoints gaining is much higher with normal extra bloodpoints offerings, expecially if survivors and killers choose to run more than one Bloody Party Streamer or Points Offering of a Previous Anniversary Event. I keep thinking these needs a huge buff, becoming stackable and also granting more base points and not just Event Interactions bonus points. Anniversary Offerings are always the most loved ones because these work like that and grant extra bloodpoints for everyone, also available for the whole year. Blood Moon or Halloween Events Offerings are time limited, so making these even stronger by granting Bonus Base Points AND Bonus Extra Event Interactions points would be fine, in my opinion.

I don't know if some of these things can be fixed for this event (at least increasing the bloodpoints gaining by pushing the numbers would be amazing), but I hope it can at least help with the future events you're gonna set.

Wishing you an amazing work,

Jane

Since I'm playing the Blood Moon event (yesterday at release) I wasn't able to gain one single pip (I'm currently on Iri IV) because I usually get Lightbringer on silver at maximum…

Blood gens also feel really bad from Killer side because they are much faster than normal gens, and exacerbating this is the fact that many perks do not work on these gens. Survivors have discovered you can just work in shifts on these to get them done in under 30 seconds each, and if the Killer is not super mobile or isn't able to spit pressure basekit like Knight, you can't really do much to stop them from being slammed super fast. You can have the best chase in the world and play perfectly, then lose three gens in a chase that lasts not even half a minute… while playing a mobility Killer like Blight. That feels really bad, that is absurdly fast. It actively encourages Killers to play as sweaty as possible, which means slugging, tunnelling, and camping if you want any Kills. I thought we wanted to discourage those.

Add to the fact that there's not much interactive for Killers to do here and there isn't much incentive for Killers to play this mode period.
