Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

The more I play the event, the more I like it

I really like doing gens, it's one of my favorite things when I play survivor, so I was initially disappointed at the blood generator mechanic. I still am. From the survivor side, the blood gens aren't really satisfying to complete, it just feels like a nuisance.

Playing killer, however, is a totally different and unique experience. Not letting regression perks affect the generators has opened killers to a whole new range of perks and playstyles. Out of all of the events DBD has had so far, this has been the biggest meta shift by far and I love it on both sides. As survivor, I'm not constantly facing a killer with 3+ slowdowns, and as killer I can just run info and chase perks and not have to patrol generators.

I don't like carrying cans of blood to generators but gameplay-wise, this event has been extremely refreshing.

I can't say I agree, some of the weaker Killers really need some of those perks and I am not a fan of how the gens limit perk usage for things like Blast Mine and fun stuff like Unforeseen. Some Killers are hard nerfed by the mode based on their powers needing gens to work, and bloodpoint gain on the gens isn't very good because Survivors compete to see who finishes it and gets the points.

It just feels unfinished. It feels like Killer gets nothing interesting to do, but Survivor gets this fun new mechanic. I find it a bit boring, I'm just grateful most Killers I've met have been more into farming than winning. But man, when I hit the ones that want to win… my games feel just absolutely awful and the worst part is, I can't blame them. This mode massively disadvantages them.
