Can you be banned for manually changing perk icons?

basically the title, can i get banned if i make a new perk icon myself and then put it inside the files

    I believe yes you could get banned. People used to mod the game in similar fashion and they made it so altering the game's script is banable. There are perk overlays like some streamers have which won't get you banned though. Not sure how they do it but it's similar to changing the theme on your phone.
