Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Balanced Landing Shouldn't Cause Exhaustion.

If you're worried about it being abused through small drops, it shouldn't do that in the first place. I'll step off one of the slopes surrounding the Disturbed Ward building and I'm suddenly running Sprint Burst. If I wanted that I would run that perk. It doesn't even suppress anything when it does this. I started using this assuming you had to jump out a second floor window to trigger it. It saves you from stagger. That way I could run something like Lithe for ground level chases.

Killers never suffer slow down from drops. Especially with All-Shaking Thunder. Free Coup de Grâce but situational. That's what Balanced Landing can be. If Boil-Over takes substantial height to give wiggle progress, this should be similarly situational. At least to me. Increase height requirements for both sides to at least one floor.

Edit: I realize the conclusion I was actually trying to come to. BL just shouldn't cause Exhaustion. Similar to Iron Will. That way you couldn't run other Exhaustion perks alongside it. Or be advised not to, sort of.

That would effectively make you absolutely uncatchable if ever on a surface above the ground with a dropdown. The killer dares chase you? Just run to higher ground, then keep running back to higher ground, and again. It would make any second floors safety zones. On top of that, you mentioned you want this so you can sprint burst away from a fall and then use lithe immediatly after. That's even worse. Killers would literally get no hooks on anyone running balanced landing if the map has higher elevation. Well, unless you're blight\nurse\ghoul. What you're actually asking for here is unlimited sprint bursts all match.

Im pretty sure they mean remove the sprint burst effect from balanced landing and make it so the perk ONLY removes stagger and drop noises, basically like old tier 1/2 balanced landing when only tier 3 had the sprint burst effect

I think what the game doesn't need right now is for disturbed ward main to be even more pointless for the killer to interact with?

Regardless of if you mean that you should get a sprint burst every time you drop off a second floor or if you just mean no stagger on landing.

Then they would make less floored maps? This is not a perfect change. I wouldn't run Lithe if BL got me out of the Chase. Usually when I drop, it's not through a hole. It's vaulting a window into a free fall. Which eliminates BL in the first place. Dropping through simply a hole in the wall or floor means you're caught. Especially with All-Shaking Thunder.

Running up the same flight of stairs is also asking to be caught. It becomes predictable. I'm looking to end the Chase. Not loop a non-loop. I run something else with BL because it's not enough on its own. It's the worst Exhaustion perk. DWM, Finesse, Q&Q, and Windows of Opportunity aren't Exhaustion perks and have short cooldowns. Finesse requires you to be healthy. Would that be better? BL only if you're healthy because realistically you shouldn't be doing that injured? Disable the suppression effects. Give those effects a cooldown. That's the only thing separating it from SB.

Also, is it not on the Killer chasing across multiple, repeating floors? If the Survivor doesn't have BL, the Killer wins drops. I doubt everyone would run BL on the small chance of it being useless on the randomly selected map. It wouldn't be as meta as you think.

Fair enough. Every time I use BL, it's to hopefully not have to use it for that 40 seconds. I usually run away from the drop as climbing back up there would be Killer-sided depending on how long it would take. Factoring in Bloodlust if the Killer is that hellbent on catching me specifically. I don't take chases if I don't have to. BL is just something in my pocket.

If I could only use it once per trial, it would still be useful in those moments.

That would be best imo. Just stagger resistance but not while Exhausted. Don't encourage ppl to abuse it as an all in one perk. As is it doesn't do much on the off chance you're still Exhausted while *choosing* to climb then drop for nothing.
