Red Herring Cooldown Bypassed Without Gen Repair

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE:

Red Herring can be triggered repeatedly without repairing a generator again. After the perk is activated once, entering a locker every 15 seconds continues to trigger the loud noise notification at the same generator, even without further gen interaction. This appears to happen specifically on the Withered Isle map.

PLATFORM: PC

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED:

  • Start a trial with Red Herring equipped.

  • Repair any generator for at least 1 second to activate the perk.

  • Enter a locker to trigger the loud noise notification.

  • Wait 15 seconds for the cooldown.

  • Re-enter any locker without interacting with a generator again.

  • Notice the loud noise is triggered again at the same generator.

  • This can be repeated indefinitely as long as the gen is not completed or another gen isn’t touched.

    Did you verify your account through the e-mail you received? Because that could be the reason why you are not able to attach the logs.

    Apologies, yes I verified my email. It's my PC that's giving me issues and always giving me the popup, "How do you want to open this file type?"

    You don't need to open the file, you can simply attach it.

    Just happened intermittently on The Pale Rose.

    Here you can see, I just triggered it but it is still highlighted and allows me to trigger it again.
