BHVR should really release stats more consistently.
Like every 1-3 months. I really want to know what the kill rates for Ghoul is, because it has to be outrageous. I'm only playing until the end of the event until the killer gets less popular. I've been playing since the Nemesis release and have never complained about a killer release before this one, but this game is basically not playable as is. Its bad enough to have an over powered/unfair killer, but then the fact the killer is as popular as Wesker was, and on top of that you basically have zero chance because so many survivors give up (understandably so). Idk how anyone plays. If not for the event, I certainly wouldn't.
Of the 53 matches I've played during the event, 18 have been Ghouls. During those 53 matches, there has only been 1 four survivor escape. Since Ghoul's release, the average kills in my matches have been at 3.0 or about 75%. In the 555 matches before this event, the average kills I've seen were 2.4, so killer sided but reasonably so. The game works best with somewhat of a killer advantage. But 75%? That's pretty bad.
I also track gen completion and an unrelated bit of trivia is the average gen completion in my matches before and during the event are exactly the same, 3.7 gen completion on average. So that would suggest to me the new gens are more likely to get done, but that hasn't helped survivors at all somehow. Most likely due to Ghoul just being stupid strong.
I want to know if my experience is an anomaly or if the matches really are this bad for most other survivors. BHVR should release more stats, more frequently to answer this question.

This community has shown repeatedly that they can't handle actual statistics and will just make up whatever they want to push how they think things should be, regardless of BHVR's actual data.
Here's literally how this would go on these forums:
Kill rate too high? It's survivors fault. They aren't learning counterplay, or giving up too much, or just haven't brought the 47 perks and items required to make this happen. The pros escaped once, clearly it's a skill issue.
Kill rate isn't too high? Obviously the killer needs buffs. Doesn't matter which buffs, just throw anything on there: remove a cooldown, make an iri add-on base kit, all pallets explode into splinters and all vaults permanently blocked the second the match starts. Anything. Oh, and definitely nerf gens and buff regression.

As soon as we start punishing survivor for throwing on hook we won’t really have to worry about that aspect too much. Start with a 30 minute ban for throwing on hook and problem solved.
We’re already about to punish killers for slugging, tunneling, proxy camping and camping.
The proper way to get stats on how good a killer is would be how many gens are popped before their first hook.
-14 -
He’s at a 62% kill rate out of 5,000 matches on Nightlight gg. Which is completely accurate. You upload a screenshot with your data and it is verified so you can not lie.
-13 -
I'm not engaging with this person anymore, but the comments that follow my initial statement prove my point pretty well.
Apparently I need to add "screaming for nerfs or complaining about features that don't yet exist, and the devs have released no information about" to my list also.
13 -
Probably too soon to get an accurate kill rate for the new killer
6 -
We’re already about to punish killers for slugging, tunneling, proxy camping and camping.
That's some very wishful thinking. Only thing that's punished there is camping (I assume when you just say camping you mean face camp, to contrast with proxy camp which you also bring up)
5 -
How is it wishful, when devs already announced it is going to be addressed?
-1 -
People misusing stats to try and prove arguments is probably why BHVR shouldn't release stats more frequently, as annoying as it is.
The stats are neat trivia and conversation starters, not hard evidence of balance or imbalance.
12 -
I agree that BHVR should be more transparent with their stats, but I understand their point of view that there is really no upside to releasing stats and a lot of downside to doing so. Whatever they release will be flamed by either the pro-killer side or the pro-survivor side.
4 -
They won't release Kaneki stats because he hasn't been out long enough for them to be meaningful.
In other words, you would just see 90+% kill rates until the MMR stabilizes, and they don't want to feed the narrative. Which is understandable.

I feel the same way. I know some may feel that stats are too divisive but in my opinion there needs to be a base-line somewhere that isn’t just based on how it feels. Nuance is important, and even in modern day law it’s not exactly black and white, as there are varying degrees of certain things or specific requirements that have to be met in order for it to be “x” or “y”. If you can’t rely on any kind of statistical data or evidence that isn’t influenced by bias, then I don’t see any possible way of balance. The statistics matter.
I think it would be great for the end game screen to show stats. How much time each survivor spent on a gen, how many unhooks, heals, totems, chase time etc. how many times the killer injured, how many times they kicked gens, how long each chase time was etc. Providing these kind of stats helps provide a clearer picture of what happened in the match.
So, yes. 100% I agree.
(Edit: spelling)3 -
Why exactly? The stats literally mean nothing
-3 -
There's 4 different things mentioned there, which is the "it" you are talking about?
2 -
they wont give ban for slugging or camping same can be say about going next on hook sorry break that to you.
1 -
All of them? We don't know to what extent tho, but there are changes in plan for it.
2 -
Why would they ban for it?
I talked about basekit features, which seems to be implemented this year.

I havent played since the first day of blood moon, the event is boring and ghoul being overpowered made it even more annoying. I am having fun playing Helldivers 2, i will wait until he gets more nerfs and the new rift releases.

Wishful thinking? It’s literally confirmed in the roadmap?

And what if he would have around 75% Killrate? Then you would say that the Data is not accurate. 62% fits your narrative, this is why you are saying it is accurate. And nightlights data will always be below BHVRs data when it comes to quality, simply because it is limited by what people want to upload.
@Topic:
The community is not ready for stats. They just dont understand it or dont want to understand it. I remember back then Stats were released and the first complaint was that it does not differ between high Ranks and low Ranks. Next time the stats differ between high and low Ranks and then suddenly they were bad because they dont show PC and Console.
Then people are twisting narratives - people were parotting that Nurse has the lowest Killrate, despite everyone knowing that she is the strongest Killer and just pulled down by her steep learning curve and the fact that she is a free character, so people who dont even know what Items, Perks or Add Ons are (BHVR confirmed this that it happens a lot with new players) drag it down.
Then with the latest stats BHVR even had chase time included in those stats. The total average Chase time was around 60 second PER Survivor PER game. Not per Chase, per Survivor. This means that one chase (assuming 3 chases for every survivor) is 20 seconds. And the number for high MMR was not much higher, I think around 10 seconds higher or so. And despite having the Data that even at high MMR Chase Times on average were really not long, there are still people here who claim that it is not true and they play on a special Survivor with only godlike Survivors.
Stats are nice. But only if the community has the ability to comprehend those. And the DBD-Community does not have this ability.

You were not going to like the results. To begin with, this data would show that the killrate is the desired one. Then, WoO should be nefed because it doubles the usage of the most used killer perk (Nightlight data).

🤣🤣

The last time they promised something anti-camp related, it came out as an implicit tutorial on how to camp more efficiently.
7 -
Another completely disingenuous statement with no basis at all. You don’t know me. Stop speaking poorly of me when you have no clue what you’re talking about, thanks.
If he had a 75% kill rate I would 100% believe it’s accurate BECAUSE IT IS. It is hard FACTUAL DATA for the small sample size they have. Just so you know stats work lmao. You can use smaller sample sizes and extrapolate to bigger ones. It’s not going to be far off from Bhvrs data at all.
I would chalk up that kill rate to survivors throwing on hook because he is CLEARLY nowhere NEAR that strong. Nurse is at 61%. No other killer will be TEN PERCENT above her without survivors throwing on hook. Especially not one as mediocre as him.
-4 -
62% doesn't seem too bad given the general skill of the survivor playerbase tbh
Fact is, if you have under 5k hours I automatically assume you don't know how to loop or do gens efficiently. And I'm usually right, judging by the survivors I face consistently.
-1 -
The reality is Nurse’s kill rate is accurate because she doesn’t over perform on average, and she doesn’t over perform at the top 5%.
In fact, she only over performs at such a tiny small percentage of the players, that it doesn’t affect her kill rate.
Remember that most tier lists are based on the top 0.00001% of the players, where people try to theorize what would happen if the absolute best people in the entire world played the killers. Those tier lists aren’t relevant at all to public games.
1 -
I'd like to see stats with DC's included and, separately, Hatch Escapes excluded.
I think both will help paint a more accurate picture of the current state of DBD.
5 -
The only stat we need to know is the MMR of all players. Its still intriguing and probably would solve the matchmaking issue if we could figure out how bad the system really works.
3 -
And when we got the anti-3 gen it came with a buff to killer kicks and an elimination of gen tapping.
4 -
Survivors are so unskilled that they need a minimum of 5k hours to loop or complete gens.... Yet killers can pick up the game and play like gods. Yeah, I think you are misunderstanding which role is unskilled here.
5 -
It's not that killers are better at the game, it's that killers don't need to be better to win against the horrible players on survivor.
Fact is, most killers don't know how to loop or manage time efficiently either. But this game is killer sided when no one knows what they're doing, so...
1 -
Gotcha. Yeah, I agree with that. And I am totally aware of the "I escape almost every match" survivors who hide as soon as the first survivor is dead. Sure your mmr is "high" but your skill is most definitely not.
2 -
Well you got your stats. Now what
2 -
Freddy nerf when?
3 -
Clearly we must nerf Freddy, vecna, and twins
5 -
New players and a new rework. low and mid level players were clearly getting stomped by him and probably are still to this day.
0 -
I just wish we’d see ALL the killers, not just who’s performing the best. Let us see who’s underperforming as well. Also let us see hook stats per gens left.
0 -
1800 mmr is the top 10 percent lol That said him being new still applies.
And yeah we should see all killers like we used to.0 -
Whats the point in getting statistics which have no definition of their underlying factors and thereby are quite useless to make any conclusions out of?
-1 -
Neat trivia and conversation starters, mostly.
The stats aren't supposed to be considered as hard evidence when they're shared, they're meant to just be an interesting novelty.
2 -
If BHVR released stats today then Ghoul would probably be in the 70's right now.
